To seek a royal pardon for A. Otherwise, A would not be allowed to participate in future elections.
(n.b. Singapore has a similar clause in Article 45 of the Constitution - essentially, would not qualify to be an MP if one is convicted of an offence by a court of law in Singapore or Malaysia and sentenced to imprisonment for a term of not less than one year or to a fine of not less than $2,000 and has not received a free pardon)
Keyword being \"seek\". Whether accept / agree to pardon A depends on the Agong (current Agong is the Sultan of Kelantan). -

But M never promise A that he will definitely get it because M isn't the Agong and he doesn't control the Agong. -

I still don't get why people are so concerned about the HSR unless they have bought some properties in anticipation of the HSR (or hoping to buy a property and live in MY)
The second CBD is a catchy term, but most of the job opportunities (maritime, infrastructure development and technology sectors) in the second CBD aren't necessarily tied or reliant on the construction / presence of the HSR.
Most of the benefits for SG are described in vague macroeconomic terms, such as the convenience of being close to one another (err... SIN-KUL is the world's busiest air route and less than 45 mins flight time away), a quick and affordable way to get in touch to make friends and do business (err... you can choose between AK, TR, SQ, MI, MH, FY, OD, etc) and to be one integrated economy (???). This means opportunities for businesses, tourists and investors to get both destinations for the price of one (how is that different from today? Travel on the HSR isn't exactly free).
On the other hand, the benefits for MY are described in more precise terms, e.g. reduction in the exposure of commuters to road safety incidents, create 111,000 jobs, ignite catalyst projects such as Educity, Nusajaya Tech Park and Fast Track around Iskandar Puteri, contracts / sub-contracts for bumi companies, etc. Unless Singaporeans are keen to work in MY (and earning MYR
), I can't see how these developments will help us.
Maybe someone can enlighten me if I have missed something? Me not of the million dollar caliber.
