      Hi E3,

My daughter came home yesterday with a card she made in school. She asked me, 'how could you forget it's Mother's Day?' I am going to find a nice box for all the sweet pieces she has made in school.
      Very sweet... πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

Today would be the last day of SA1 exams for P1-2 until SA2 in October.

Son told me his teacher will go through Maths paper with him on Friday. All the papers will be returned on 18th for parents to go through.

              hi e3/mommies with P2 kids,

when does composition writing come in? are the kids expected to do it by the end of P1 or only in P2? how about δ½œζ–‡?

sonny has this thing about writing beyond a few sentences. 1 page (much less 2 pages) is already too much... so will have to make plans to build up his writing stamina πŸ˜› πŸ˜›

              thanks!

The P1s are required to write 10 sentences, not more, not less for SA2 EL pp1 based on a picture. It should be a story. For Chi SA2 pp1, they are required to write five separate sentences on 5 given phrases, and another five sentences on 5 pictures.

The P2s are required to write a compo minimally 3 paras, preferably 4 based on 4 pictures. For Chi, they are required to write a compo based on a scenario. Although, there are minimum word limits for both pp1s, it is advisable to write more in order to develop the story and score for content.

Yes, SA1 FINALLY over. A relief.
There is something which I would like to ask you mummies. Do you feel accountable for your children's results ? Is it our fault if children do not do well for their exams ? How do you feel about this ?

i may not exactly be \"qualified\" to comment since this sa1's our maiden exam outing but i do believe in the cliche - \"you can lead your horse to water but you can't make it drink\".

our job's to coach, strategize and cheer them on but once they get into the ring, it's their fight... theirs and theirs alone. how they use their wits & knowledge about them during exam, that we have no control over.

of course, all said i do wonder sometimes if i've employed the best strategy to teach sonny but certainly it's the best for now... no one can have perfect knowledge lah. have courage ya :snuggles:

Hi Janet, it is a BIG relief.
Yes, I felt accountable for my child's result. Even more when I came back late everyday, see her sleeping when back to home. I only coach her 1mth b4 the exam, but for this SA1, I did not have time to do anything at all except 1.5hr before the exam day. The guilt is always there but bacon is equally impt.
