      hi yl,

I know how it feels paying so much for a simple table…from delivery to assembling. the total costs is just ridiculous!
ikea makes consumers feel like they are saving a lot but if one doesn’t have own transport, it would be costly to get them to deliver especially for big items.

The queue to collect big items is terribly frustrating. Even when the Asst Mgr gave us 2 return meal vouchers doesn’t help to relieve our angst coz the tired waiting, lacking of seats, poor ventilation at collection corner. I’ll never buy fr there anymore.

I encountered this high charge installation fee then when I bought several items from Ikea 2 years back for my hdb…transport I remember also ex right. only get their service for heavier and more complicated stuffs like book shelves. Light table, plastic type chairs get dh sat down on floor to enjoy.

hubby enjoys ikea tampines as it's bigger....but i told him, 'yeah bigger but SO FAR!'
i'm not familiar with the east area, so i feel very out of place and lost.

anyway, must do some calculations when u intend to buy fr ikea
no v worth for small items if your dh cant do the diy assembly
so far , my dh assembled the lack/tables , bedroom cabinets himself , ds is also into this lately to fix up a lounge arm chair. I think those who enjoy lego building enjoy ikea furniture assembly :scratchhead:

hubby assembled kids’ study tables and coffee table.

but for heavy duty stuff, we don’t buy from ikea because they don’t last.

quality of some stuff has dropped. for the round colourful stools, even quality has dropped. i bought 4 of each colour years ago...then recently i bought a dark blue. it is hollow compared to the ones i bought years back.
