Wanted to ask how much the student need to score for HCL to get Distinction/Merit/Pass?

Higher Chinese Bonus Points

Distinction\t≥80 marks\t\tBonus +3
Merit\t65-79 marks\t\tBonus +2
Pass\t50-64 marks\t\tBonus +1
Ungraded\t<50 marks
These Bonus Points are only considered for admission to SAP schools. Special Assistance Plan (SAP) Schools are Chinese medium government, government-aided, or independent schools. Their Chinese School environment enables students to be efficiently bilingual, and inculcates traditional values in them.

Pupils in the top 30% of the PSLE cohort who take HCL will be awarded Bonus Points.

To take HCL at secondary school:
•\tTop 10% of PSLE cohort
•\tTop 11% - 30% of PSLE cohort with A* in CL or minimally Merit in HCL

How to improve 理解问答? My DS scored full marks in all other sections but failed 理解问答 . He’s in a SAP school . Thank you .

You referring to CL or HCL? MCQ or Open-Ended? CL using past year exam paper practice still can sustain at least 15/26 Open-Ended marks if parents know how to guide. MCQ Compre also not hard, just know basic techniques should be close to full marks. MCQ compre I have June holiday course, Open-Ended I train intensively in Pri 6 regular class. HCL compre, need to leave to experts, too hard for basic tutors too.
