Hi all.. if my hubby is a grassroot leader in GRC A. But we moved to a new place in GRC B. But he is still active in grassroot activities in GRC A. Which primary schools will be eligible for our kid to register in?

Will be eligible for schs in GRC B, where you reside. -

The choice of schools should be based on where you serve, but the distance will still be based on where you live, which by right should be in the same area where you serve. Because there's no point serving in an area whereby the schools are too far from where you live. For example, even if you serve in Bishan and are eligible to register in Catholic High, you won't even get the chance to ballot if your house is in AMK which is > 1km away.Cherry_Ning:
May I ask for grassroots for 2B
- it’s based on where you stay to determine the school? or
- where we serve?
If it’s based on where we stay then how do we know which are e eligible schools? Like it must be within 2km?
see, conflicting info. -

Your GLC is not applicable for school in another GRC. For details you can refer to the MOE website
if you could kindly quote the exact URL from the MOE website, that would be useful. -

nowadays, MOE do not post GRL anymore, because the GRL always keep changing the boundary of GRL, every few years of election.
In reference to what u had mentioned (in bold above) :-
if MOE still post GRL : can you provide us the URL (MOE) link, when was it dated ? still valid, or invalid (past years already) ? -

Hi Skii.. https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/ ... ts-workers ---> the link to say choice of schs according to where u reside. Not where u serve.

same situation with u, still dunno how to choose -
I stay within 1km of the school I want to register to, but unlucky for me, the school is not in my GRC. I think the boundaries are a little different.
So based on the active community leader policy, I cannot apply for the school using phase 2b right? I can only apply for other school that are in my GRC for phase 2b.
Honestly I think this system needs some revision because for example, schools like ACS are under tanjong pagar GRC. That is no where near tanjong pagar. So if you stay in tanjong pagar, while you have alot of schools in your GRC, your chances aren’t that high.
Someone who stays along Bukit timah, say Warren estate is within 1km of ACS, but they do not qualify for active community leader cos they don’t belong to tanjong pagar GRC. And then when government change boundaries, all efforts wasted? -
Dear All,
Would anyone know what PA screen for in their volunteers? I understand they screen for criminal records, bankruptcy records etc, any other major screenings?
Much thanks!
