All replaced (substituted) by computer balloting algorithm programming now, for P1 admission balloting, wef 2018 P1 registration (starting from 2019 P1 intake)
this unique 2019 year , MOE made changes to :-
- P1 computerised balloting admission (starting wef from children born 2012 and after 2019 P1 intake),
- P6 DSA changes, become centralized pool of DSA application and processing !
(starting wef for children born 2007, and after) -
phtthp:
And the new Affiliation System (also from 2019 onwards) - 20% of places reserved for non-affiliated students.

Balloting is done on the last day of registration in case it’s oversubscribed. Anyway it’s computerised and just press one button. My friend kid went through balloting in HPPS and they told her can call the next day for unofficial result except when they called end up was told to wait for official SMS from moe. The schools got to ballot first before they can submit names to moe to blast out the SMS so they can’t wait until last min to ballot.

balloting by individual schools not MOE?

Zappy:
20% of the total intake of each respective school? or 20% of the S1 exercise (i.e. total intake less after DSA taken up)?
And the new Affiliation System (also from 2019 onwards) - 20% of places reserved for non-affiliated students.phtthp:

Doesn’t matter where the 20% come from, DSA, appeal, S1 posting. -

thought all balloting was conducted at MOE premises, itself ?
How come now hear a different story from you, that individual school conduct balloting first, then submit balloting results, to MOE ? Then MOE consolidate, send sms out to parents -

SINGAPORE: The manual balloting currently conducted in schools during the Primary 1 registration exercise will be replaced by computerised balloting conducted centrally at the Ministry of Education's (MOE) headquarters.
The change will take effect from this year's P1 registration exercise, the ministry announced in a news release on Tuesday (Mar 20).
