Estéema:
By end of the day you will roughly know which distance group requires balloting. And with the new computerized balloting system, you can only wait for the SMS notification after the balloting is completed. There won't be anymore balloting session like in the past.mummielee:
Hi zac's mum, will we know if there'll be balloting at the end of the 2nd day of registration? or do we have to wait till the day of result?
You'll hv to wait till day of results. We were told back then when registering to wait if there's balloting, they'll call us. Whether u go & witness balloting, u'll be informed if u did not get in to enable to take registration to next stage. Owise u're safe. -

If u can, please remain in the registration room until 4.30pm closing time. The staff will announce: (i) which category will be balloting (ii) how many applicants in that category fighting for how many seats. Then u will know your odds. Then u go home to pray.
Those who leave before 4.30pm, let’s say they need to rush off for sthg else. They will only know the answer to part (i) from MOE’s website when it is updated late in the evening same day. And they will never know the answer to (ii).

zac's mum:
as you'd know I'm thinking/planning for SJIJ for my son (SG50 kid). but I've always had my eyes on ACS J or ACPS. but our place is 1-2km of both ACS, not <1km, unfortunately.
How? Do you think I should try Phase 2C for ACS? station my husband at ACSJ and myself at SJIJ? And decide in the afternoon? (sweat!) No choice but to go for 2C because both SJIJ and ACS don't have PV, unfortunately.
and while my husband was baptized a Catholic, our sons aren't, and I don't really intend to. I don't wish to get a school via religion routes as I am quite a staunch agnostic... would be so pretentious and unethical to attend church and all just to get kids into a school!
HOW? and I cannot believe myself for thinking about this for my 2015 kid. man, I'm a full fledge kiasu Singaporean parent!

Reiann, u can monitor this year’s registration first and see whether the demand allows for 1-2km applicants.zac's mum:

The strategy can come later. PM me closer to your son’s registration and I will share my insights then.
I personally was born and baptized a Catholic myself. But I later converted to Christianity after marriage and our son accepted Christ himself personally at age 4. We are active in our (non-denominational) church and happy there. I admit I could have used my baptism to enrol my DS at any Catholic school at phase 2B, I did not wish to nor feel right about it either. So we are on the same page

I thought to be eligible for Phase 2B, only one of the parents need to be a baptised Catholic, but the child doesn't have to be baptised?zac's mum:

btw, we are allowed to stay in the registration room?[/quote]Yes, you can stick around. Many parents do that because they want to be sure that they don't need to activate Plan B.zac's mum:
