It could also mean that some parents will flock to lesser popular schools to secure a spot in order to avoid balloting. Those schools who have lots of places left in 2C(S) may have lesser vacancies this year, triggering balloting or may not have any vacancies left in 2C(S).

Parents would really need to watch this year’s registration like a hawk… dont waste your 2B and 2C chance.

Definitely longer and definitely lesser slots as compared to previous years

There are more vacancies on the whole this year. Unfortunately, there are more people applying in the earlier phases resulting in lesser places for Phase 2C.

My guess is the fear factor as its dragon year. Parents would first secure a spot in the earlier phases then decide to switch if the odds of balloting are in their favour. But if all parents are doing it, then how is it helpful?

A lot of people have likely applied in the earlier phases for > 2km in order to secure a place first, even in traditionally less popular schools. I think the number of vacancies left for 2B and 2C speak for itself. As a result. everyone is now better off staying with their choice, even if the choice was originally their 3rd, 4th or 5th option.

Hi, Can I check if anyone knows how many SHHK letters were issued for Tao Nan school this year?

              Many thanks!

the last i heard from a SHHK fren, about 26 letters were issued this yr (2018).
even for last yr under 2b, they had balloting within 1km. unless you are staying within 1km from ATS, else it would be better to consider other schools.[/quote]

Shhk controls the Pv for all their 5 schools.

Thus one can volunteer , clock their hours and then to be ranked.

No. Of letters issued will be determined by shhk only when no. Of phase 2b slots known. (Ie: now)

Since this is a moving number (2b), no. Of letters issued will not be a good indication for preceding years.

However, from what I know, shhk will issue close to the max, to 1km Pv, and leave a bit for the GRL.

                  My 2 cents.

                    Hi all daddies/mummies,

Going to register my DD under 2C, not sure which school should I register, please help to enlighten me.
1st choice would be either Westwood Primary (SC, <1km) or West Grove Primary (SC, <1km)
2nd choice Pioneer Primary (SC, <2km)
Both Westwood and West Grove seems will have to ballot under 2C. If above fail, backup would be Corporation Primary under 2Cs.

Can you all share your opinion?

Hi, does this means that those members outside 1km will not be given the letters? Or they will still give if members staying within 1km are less than 20? Thanks.
