      Most will apply day 1.
Those playing the “withdrawal method” to game the system are in day 2 afternoon.

parents still play this 'game' for phase 2B? this is not an easy phase to be in as they would either be PVs or clans and requires many hours spent to get the letter.

agree.. or it could be my fren's case where they got a place in phase 2a via alumni but are now monitoring to try to get into a popular school within 1 km of their home in phase 2b.

        Hello,

Incase anyone interested, SJIJ is at total of 56 applications for 51 spots. As of now, SC beyond 2km will go to ballot. Total of SCs in 1km/ 1-2km is 36 applicants…so chances looking dim if you are beyond 2km…
        Sigh…fingers crossed…

this is normal. parents will secure a seat in phase 2A and then monitor vacancies under 2C...but didn't know those in 2B will withdraw. I remember we were so happy when we received the confirmation letter after registering in 2B.

This is likely to be the number of applicants since phase 1. Up to Phase 2A2, it was 146. Most probably you are number 20+

for phase 2B. Ask the school admin to shed some light?

Tinywings...I do not know. But I can share 2 interesting incidents that I personally observed during my year:

Incident A: Situation at 3.45pm is already 49 applicants <1km for 49 seats (the number has been going up since 2.30pm). At 4pm, parent who is >2km wanted to apply. The staff told him the situation and asked him: “Are you sure you still want to apply?” He walked away and had heated conversation on the phone with [spouse, I assume]. Never came back.

Incident B: Situation at 4.15pm is already 51 applicants <1km for 49 seats. Closing time is at 4.30pm. Parent who is 1-2km wanted to withdraw. The staff asked him: “Errrrr...are you sure you can make it to the other school on time??” He still insisted to withdraw. They shrugged and processed it.

From the above, I believe that whatever the staff say, if you are verrrry sure what you want to do, just do it lor.

If the 1-2km didn’t withdraw, they still out.
They should withdraw no matter whether they can make it or not yah

I am guessing...those people who apply on Day 1 are either:

                    - PVs of that particular school
                    - people who die die also want to ballot anyway, so just apply first

The groups who will wait until Day 2 are:
                    - religious/clan members who have several schools to choose from
                    - GRLs who have several schools to choose from
Even though the GRL, religions member can choose a few schools, but I think the decision was made earlier ... it could be only ACSP/J/SJ that has a rare case that ppl can live in golden triangle to close to all 3 schools 🙂
