Hi gurus,


Would like to check if it is possible for me to rent a place < 1 km of my preferred primary school of choice, whilst renting out my current BTO residence? We are not allowed to sell our BTO since 5 years not up yet, but was wondering if we can rent it out instead?

Please double check your HDB terms and conditions. I recall that if the 5 year MOP is not up yet, you cannot rent out the whole flat. Unless got very special reasons like family posted overseas for work etc.

I have a question regarding to the school address. If the school is currently on a temporary site due to upgrading works, is the old or the temporary address being considered as the school address during registration? I suppose it shall be the old one but I would just like to make sure…

Is it possible to register different addresses for Phase 2B and Phase 2C.

Using this example, we would like to apply for Nanyang Primary under Phase 2B using the rented condo address which is <1km but unfortunately we did not get in during the balloting process.

Then we change address back to our HDB address to register for Phase 2C for the nearby neighbourhood school.

Is that ok?

Parents who move to a residence that is within the same home-school distance category as the declared address used for registration, can continue to fulfil the 30 months stay condition based on the new address.

Technically can be done but legally it should not be done because in the eyes of the law you are committing fraud. If MOE initiates investigation you might get into trouble.

Nevertheless you could still give it a try at your own risk. Do update us on the outcome!

Yup.
Therefore, if you own 2 or 3 properties, you could use 1 address for Phase 2B registration, update to another for Phase 2C registration, and update to the last for Phase 2Cs registration. You will then move in and stay in the one that you got in via distance priority.
