Personal gut feel is between 1-5 places for those more than 2km away. After applying, I called up the school to check a few times as I was within 1-2km... Reply was a very cautious, so far safe, but quite dangerous and cannot confirm. First day had 37 applications for 29 places. After that had another 2 more places, but end of second day had 10 more applications.

      Agree... within 1 to 2 km.... just scraped thru. If u have gotten in via 2B balloting, u are very lucky.

      Yes. I agree I am very very very extremely lucky to get in through balloting. That’s why I am curious how many vacancies were opened for balloting for people staying >2km.
Out of curiosity as well, were u recommended by SBF or grassroots leader in Marine Parade GRC?

      Our kids will be school mates. Congrats.

          Buddha answered your prayers. Hope the distance travelled is going to be worth it. Amitabha. Haha.

            God heard our prayers... we are actually not too far from MBS, just 100-200m off the 2km mark. Lol

              We called up the school to ask about ballot numbers as we fell outside 2km and we wanted to start switching focus if within 2km had already occupied all remaining vacancies, the staff blurted out that there were 5 places. I believe in the end it worked out to 21 applicants balloting for 5 places.

                @cornyjoke, did you manage to successfully ballot in the end?

                @jaslinhu and @peiliang, congrats!

                Any other 2019 parents?

                  Hi, yes we were very fortunate to be able to get in eventually. But the experience and stress of the whole process was something I'm glad to see the back of... I only hope that the prep and anticipation for Pri 1 isn't going to be an even crazier ride than the registration!

                        Congrats to all whose child has gotten into MBS!

                        Just to share some info, there’ll be an administration orientation on 17 Oct, 2.30-3.30pm, not sure if it’s the same date & time for all but you’ll probably can expect to be around this week. It’s for you to fill up some forms, collect booklist, purchase school textbooks/uniforms, arrange school bus transport/student care services. Not necessarily to bring your child along but it’ll be gd if you intend to buy school uniforms that day.

                        There’ll be an orientation for the kids on 21 Nov, 8.30am. This will be the same for all kids, where teachers will bring them to classrooms to play some games, etc, so apply leave! Parents will be in school hall to listen to the briefing conducted by school.

                        If your child is very sticky to you type or hv separation anxiety, try to “train” him/her prior to the orientation as parents won’t go with the child to the classrooms, don’t worry, usually there’ll be 2 teachers & also a pv assigned to each class, so they’ll be in gd hands. Prep your child & ensure him/her that you’ll pick him/her from the classroom after the briefing is done.
