good point. looks like online registration for ppl who are overseas will not be playing the musical chair. The internet registration is supposedly more convenient, but issues will always arise. Somebody said server busy. Somebody said data does not match gov records (maybe your address was changed less than 6 months ago? They have lag time to update their records). Some people forgot their Singpass, or couples not logging in simultaneously as required.
If u can meet all the restrictive criteria, online registration is a breeze. If not, it becomes a real irritation. I rather just apply physically unless can’t take leave or overseas. -
zac's mum:
even applying in person requires several documents like birth cert, ICs (both parents), immunisation cert etc. even when we applied under phase 2A back then, the details have to tally. applying in person is easier.

parent still need to show the documents at the school for those who submitted online registration. Just a matter of time. I would rather register at the school and show all these documents instead.

Even the schools are prepared that many parents will prefer to apply in person. My child’s CCA this week got cancelled because the school needs the school hall for P1 registration

zac's mum:
Withdrawals cannot be done online. Must go down physically to withdraw.
Do both parents need to be present for the withdrawal at the school, or just 1 parent with 2 original NRICs will do? Does the same procedure apply for registration at the school? -

Suggest you monitor your target schools up till final morning and make a decision if want to give up 2A1 sch.
Other than distance, any other considerations to favour these schools to it? Anyway to work ard it for the next few years?
All the best!overclk2000:
Hi, fellow parents, may I seek advice on which school to register for 2C (Singapore Citizen) for my child. I'd registered him under Phase 2A1 with a school in Hougang buts its 45min bus ride away. So am looking for a school which is nearer.
Within 1km
1) PUNGGOL GREEN PRIMARY SCHOOL (high chance of balloting for <1km based on Lexy's latest info https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=91621)
2) PUNGGOL VIEW PRIMARY SCHOOL
3) PUNGGOL COVE PRIMARY SCHOOL
Within 2km
3) EDGEFIELD PRIMARY SCHOOL
4) GREENDALE PRIMARY SCHOOL
5) OASIS PRIMARY SCHOOL
Within 2km (with high chance of balloting for <1km)
6) COMPASSVALE PRIMARY SCHOOL
7) RIVERVALE PRIMARY SCHOOL
Hope the gurus here can help with advice on these options:
\t1. Should I even try for COMPASSVALE and RIVERVALE with is Within 2km? are there any new schools built around the area that will cause the no of registrations to decrease?)
\t2. Should I even try registering with EDGEFIELD, GREENDALE, OASIS? or
\t3. Just focus on those within 1km?
Would you advice that I monitor the situation and 1. withdraw from the Phase 2A1 school and then register my child on the last day i.e 2 Aug itself?
I know i'm asking a lot here hope fellow parents here can help. -
