I asked at HWS today about the breakdown of applicants to distance but they told me they were not allowed to reveal that. When we were registering today there were some parents who were registering that lived 1-2km away or further. Given the ballot history I would have thought the staff would advise them that the chances were slim to non existent. However I am making a lot of assumptions as to which category they might fall in SC or PR and distances.

I guess I just have to :xedfingers:
      MelOng:

Saw the MOE updates.. couple of schools way over subscribed.. eg. HWS 28 places available for 2C but 114 applucations !!!

HWS high applicants is definitely due to the new Bendemeer Light BTO. Some residents might not be 1st timer getting a new flat, so 2nd timer residents' kids would already have been at schooling age now.

More or less we can guess the strategy of the applicants. They are not shunned away from the 28 seats to 114 applicants because they can always fall back on Bendemeer Pri and Farrer Park Pri which has plenty of places left overs for 2CS. Nothing to lose for those balloting.

For whichever schools we are aiming, we must \"understand\" the mindset of the others so we can think of plans to counter act or to re-strategist our plans again.

Did anyone do any research to compare 2C applicants for Day 1 and Day 2 for last yr 2017 and 2018, any big differences? I remember last year Chief Kiasu posted a data sheet for 2C, day 1 how many applicants. Day 2 how many applicants and so on. Can anyone find the link again and repost here? So we can compare last yr and this yr.

Poi Ching 142 applied for 58 places. The highest number of applicants in Tampines. I believe largely due to the surge in new homes within its 1km in recent years.

Noticed Tao Nan has exactly 43 applicants for 43 places. Hmmmm

and looking at the overly subscribed schools, my guess is that a lot will withdraw tomorrow (after seeing the surprise tonight) and re-register at another school within same area. Hopefully tomorrow night's numbers will be more accurate and evenly spread out.
there are 2 more days to go for 2c. it's hard to tell what the figures will be 2moro for those over subscribed schools. will parents withdraw and register for another school?

I think your friend can assume 99.9% within 1km.

keming, st anthony and princess Elizabeth are over subscribed especially princess Elizabeth which exceeded by 93 vacancies.

there are 4 BTO estates in bukit batok which have already TOP and many residents have moved in.
