Big shots phase 0 :rotflmao:summer83:
if using old method of balloting maybe is really luck.. but then again. now is computerised balloting.. no transparency leh.. so maybe tis yr \"such\" thing may happen and we will never know..
We all know that trust is at a deficit with this current Government... But seriously, I think there's still integrity in the system lah.
Unless... you are competing with some big shots for the place (but big shots won't be in Phase 2C leh

VIPs don't have to register...just call the P and he/she will settle the rest.

Thanks guys for the online entertainment while we wait in suspense for 4.30pm lol.
In other news, I just saw someone try to drive and park his Ferrari in the school for registration. Security guard told him no special treatment given for red cars. Go park outside at the hawker center carpark

Actually, I have no problem with people asking for breakdown... e.g. SASS, SJIJ, etc as these are real touch and go cases.reiann:
Floppy, I know youโre frustrated that parents are asking for breakdown of numbers of xxx or yyy schools โ when we all know that historically there will be balloting for SC<1km. But many parents here can be quite clueless!
For traditional (read: historical) popular schools, if you have to ask, you probably shouldn't be applying.
Besides there's a thread that's called READ ME FIRST, as well as a very well tabulated table: https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/article/singapore-primary-1-registration-school-balloting-history/ as your go-to resource.
I agree!! Nowadays, seriously, just go google! -
Haig Girls as at 11am (probably outdated by now)
93 vacancies and 100 applicants. Did not reveal breakdown by distance. Only stated PR 1-2km MAY need to ballot.
Also witnessed an ugly scene where a parent tried to pressure the staff into revealing the breakdown by distance. He said his wife is at the other school waiting to see if she should withdraw and added that as citizen they should have priority. My guess is that they are citizen >2km. The staff was still calm but added that she was just following guidelines. For their children, some parents really can show their ugly side. -
Orb:
Register back with SJI Jr lor. If heโs <1km, he may just squeeze in. Afterall, he will free up 1 seat in sji jr what.[/quote]sorry, some people has a risk threshold, meaning they can withdraw from a confirmed spot and go and ballot in another school, say 24 applicants for 23 spots. Since the chance is equal, every has the same chance. In the end, how the end game for the balloting odd depends on the last few people who come in and the last few who withdraw and go out (if they still have the chance and options to).
withdraw from sji j just because of 1 seat? by the time he withdraws and goes to acs, that seat would have been taken.janet88:

It's common... he wants to take a gamble on his luck. If he really did it & lost ballot, where can he go for 2CS? :?
is it worth it? he is going to bang his head against the wall if that happens or lose the seat because of balloting.
you plan swee swee (no ballot) doesnt meant someone will not plan for another way (high probability) -
Some PRs really donโt know how bad the situation or how hot the school is.
I have a neighbour whoโs a PR. We live within 1km from the popular South View Pri. That day i asked her if she has registered her child in a Catholic school nearby, under phase 2B, since they are Catholics and that school is safe for everyone under Phase 2B. She said she did. But actually before registering, she still wanted to try registering her child at South View under 2C. She told me she knows SV is very hot. I am guessing she does not know the extent of how hot SV is. Luckily her husband insisted on phase 2B in the catholic school and her other friends also persuaded her to go for the catholic school. I had to tell her that SV is so hot that only SCs living within 1km get to ballot.
