Can you advise what is the Hong Wen Good Pupil Award & Hong Wen Alumni STAR Pupil Award?
How many pupils can get it?

The school will base on the address in your NRIC
if we have 2 properties, can we use 1 property address for say phase 2B and another for phase 2C if the child dont get in for phase 2B? -
RE: Choosing and Evaluating Primary Schools
HCL can drop after Primary 4. There is no exam in Pri 1 and Pri 2. Stress the kid a bit in Chinese for the first 4 years only. I think whether the school offer HCL should not be a big concern.

I will prefer the school closest to my house. Till now it is a challenge to wake my girl up for school every morning.
Hi everyone,
We’ve two daughters, and are staying < 1 km of Hong Wen & 1-2 km of St. Margaret’s Primary.
Assuming we can get into either school without balloting, which school would you recommend, and why?
Thank you in advance for any input! -

The main different is higher Chinese is compulsory from Primary 1 to 4 in SAP school. SAP school is more rich in Chinese culture and more Chinese CCA. Students that don't like Chinese or weak in Chinese will not get better going to SAP instead they will struggle. There will be many new citizens that are from mainland China that will shine in the Chinese Lesson.
What is the main difference between the day to day learning between SAP Primary and non-SAP schools?
Do you think going to a SAP sch will help raise a child’s chinese Standard? -

Can’t guarantee also. We don’t know how many GRLs will be applying.
The principal said the numbers that he did not know is from Hui Guan and during the first PVs' meeting he will address the 40 hours of PV and balloting issue. Based on the passed 6 to 7 years balloting history while he is the principal, there is no balloting in 2B.
HWS PVs are all living within 1km. Sorry for that. Unless they changed principal. For horse and SG babies, they most likely take in 20 PVs just like the Dragon year so that the PVs can \"guarantee\" a place.firstda\" post_id=\"1930038\" time=\"1566191178\" user_id=\"161495:

My advice is Hong Wen >2km for 2B not guaranteed and 2C, no chance. Same goes to Fairfield, no chance for 2B and 2C. Best is 2A1/2 Fairfield, further but worth. Unless you have <1km school to consider.
If fail 2B, then go 2C is not for Alumni, it is for public.
You might also want to consider St. Margaret’s or CHIJ Kellock, if you are nearer to central. -

Thanks Davis. What I meant was that as I stay quite far from Fairfield, it is not my first choice. I am trying to see if I can get her into Hong Wen which is nearer to me but I’m only slightly out of the 2km radius. I’ve applied to do volunteering work for the school and am waiting for their reply.
I guess what I am trying to ask is since Hong Wen application will be under phase 2B, should I be unsuccessful in getting a slot, would I still be able to get my child in to Fairfield based on Alumni/ex-student?

Y sad thing? Some parents who failed to get a place in HWS shared that they are actually happy with bendemeer ps though.
It is a quite a long walk from HWS to BPS. If can get school downstairs why want to wake up early and walk so far. The traffic at Towner road is quite bad during the morning school time.
Every morning I will see students wearing bendemeer primary school uniform crossing the bridge and walking past HWS to their school. It will be a sad thing for them. The government even closed the balastier primary school last year.firstda\" post_id=\"1925605\" time=\"1564656770\" user_id=\"161495:

Far but not if you are staying on the other side of the expressway, over at McNair, Little India or Boon Keng. 1km is a radius.
Those staying at Whampoa are basically a captive audience. You have no real alternatives and no where to run to. Your only option is to ballot at HWS.
Thus, when you have one group with no where else to go, and another group who is happy to join in because their alternative is the same place they would have gone anyway if they have lost the ballot, you end up in this situation.
