And also I notice almost 90% of the students walk to school. No private cars so you can infer mostlh living very near.

Try to lookout at the large HDB carpark besides QTPS. It's always full (b4 dismissal) and we parents must struggle to find a parking lot. There are many eg BMWs, Mercedes & Volvos too. :boogie:

Good for you! This year no chance for qtps ph2cs liao. I was usually trying to squeeze through the qtps student crowd on my way to sky ville for lunch on my day off, walking by where the ice cream man stands!
Ic. That explains your frustrations & negative comments on QTPS.
I'll feedback to Principal on this issue.
Cheers, good night. :imanangel:
I asked a question earlier but didn’t get any answer so I shall try again:

1. How to waitlist? Go down to the school, 1 person or 2 person? 1 person
2. When to waitlist? After 2cs or 8 August can already? on 8 aug immediately after u get the SMS evidence
3. If u waitlist another school and got it, what happens to your spot in the first school (if there is no waitlist in sch 1)? Is it just left vacant? if u got it, go sign the paperwork at the new school first, then u take the evidence & go inform the old school that you are vacating the spot. It will go to any waitlistees, or if none then left vacant until somebody wants to transfer in
4. Does the school you waitlist at give you a number or entirely up to their discretion?
Entirely up to their discretion how they want to dole out the seat
Thanks.

May I know for waitlist, is it a must u have tried applying for that school in phase 2C?
Does the same applies to transfer cases? Also need to have tried for that school in some phases before or no need?
Thank you!
I think some people already said there is no rule. Any school can do whatever they want for wait list. All I speculate is that the top schools may want to see that u made some effort in the earlier phases. Cant be that those who just waltz in expect same waitlist treatment as everyone else if did not show some effort in trying, make sense right? That is likely why some ppl no chance liao still go and put their name down in ph 2c...
I see that CHIJ Kellock is going to ballot at 2C (101 from 95 vacancies). Does anyone know the breakdown?

CuriousDaddy2019, as of 12pm when I called. Total PRs applied 5. The rest of the influx after 2.30pm of their citizenship i have no idea.

Thanks - tnat’s helpful.

Fingers crossed!
Within 2km sc are likely to be safe. Going into balloting for the sc>2km, 41 applicants vs 40 available.
Information as at closing today at the school.

Are all SC over 2km treated the same in the ballot or does someone 2.1kms have priority over 3 or 4km?

There are only 3 categories:
<1 km
1 to 2 km
> 2km

Therefore, you could be living on the Moon but your priority is still the same with someone living a little over 2km away.

Yup u r right..But if all SC applicants oversubscriped..I wont..
But as of today morning as per last nite regn..
I heard it is 15seats are PR n rest are SC..
So if got chances for PR balloting thinking to go for it. N see her luck..
as my kid can even go by herself..as juz a pedestrain cross over..

If the chances are for PR balloting, all the more a PR shouldn’t join in. Once you missed out, your next alternative in 2Cs is going to be disastrous.

Bearing in mind that PR are after SC, regardless of distance (and there are plenty of SCs that are going to be disappointed from NCPS, RPS, CPS, etc) you may not have a viable or choice that you like / want in 2CS.

Let the others go fight it out, while you secure a slot without worrying about the worst case scenario.

Yup in the end , I did as you said..although I cldnt find time to open Kiasu n.look for msgs..going on..
So I m sticking on to curr school PLMGS although its far away..

child can learn a discipline to wake up early and avoid using technology too..
As being early at home..kids r more prone to phone..than discipline self study..except few disciplined kids even in this gen.

As I saw there few SC withdraw n came to Springdale...for 5 to 7 seats ..as per phone call ..PR will go ballot..
not sure if its PR or SC vying for it..as it may b wrong..I saw last min withdrawal frm springdale too..as vacancies increased from 115 to 118 today.

Hi all.

The school that we registered our twin boys at - Temasek Primary - is severely oversubscribed (81 applicants for 34 vacancies).

We are SCs within 1km of Temasek but I think the chance of balloting is high. Our 2nd choice was St Stephen’s (>2km) but it is 91% filled after today (19 vacancies left for 2CS) so if we are not successful with Temasek, doubt if we should try.

Our 3rd choice is Bedok Green (<1km) and the numbers look healthy enough (64 applicants for 164 vacancies).

I would like to ask if anyone can share about Bedok Green as we don’t know anyone with kids studying there. Only have info from their website, and can’t seem to find much fm KSP too. Would like to know how the school is academically (e.g. passing rates for PSLE), how the teachers are (supportive? caring?), and whether any parent has had any negative experiences with the school.

Also grateful if anyone has suggestions on alternative schools that we should consider which we may have missed out.

TIA!! :salute:
