zac's mum:
Vevey:

All levels.

Rem the p2 Estimation maths qn on weight of coin in 2015 Psle?
My eldest got it wrong while my p2 then was able to get it right. :rotflmao:
So need to revise P3 - P6 topics? a lot haha

All levels is correct. I don’t mean to scare you, patlsy79, but PSLE is Primary School Leaving Examination Exam - it will test all the English Maths Science and MT syllabus that our kids have learnt in their entire primary school 6 years. If u notice, from P1 onwards the syllabus is all laying the foundation for PSLE already.

Jia you...if foundation is weak, you still have time to review and revise. Slow and steady. Don’t need to panic.
thanks so much zac's mum! i think my kid's foundation is average. Her average subject is 70-80 ( sometime siao siao 90 marks for certain subject), Eg:- her P5 SA1 she got 2A2B, but the B is 1 or 2 marks to A....I start to panic as I read the thread when to start the revision for PSLE, some said p3/p4. I am wondering if I still have time to drill her...I don't aim high score from her, I only wish she could enter the sec sch opposite my hse..which also need 243 COP :slapshead:

I personally think should have constant revision though we still unable to do it. can try gauge using 0.72 to 0.75 x total marks if I m correct. dd oso same same in terms alphabet but after using the above gauge, my side can faint. I can only tell dd try to not having too many topics that she feels very behind. that is so much I could do now

Hi

Just wondering if any parents have stopped work or started their leave plans to coach DS/DD for PSLE next year? I am thinking of working from home for half days from Jul 19. Is it adequate?

Wouldn't this depend on how ready your child is? P6 pace and activities are very different from the preceding years, so you can't really gauge until after SA1.

Since you don't really need to make that call now, I'd suggest you decide around May next year, taking the progress, the school revision schedule & activities, child's attitude into consideration. If don't need to take all those half days, you can save them up for a big year end holiday to reward your child too!

For this year, we're just taking a few here and there just before the exams - same routine like previous SA1s/ SA2s.

by now, most of the schools' P5 SA2 exam timetable are out.

1st week of October 2018 : start Chinese zuowen (paper 1), English composition.
2nd week of October : Oral start. Other schools, maybe the other way around.
4th week of October : Main written papers come in, one by one, everyday.

One friend of mine had applied for no pay leave : starting next week after National day celebration is over, until Psle over next year. She said will stay at home to guide (supervise) her son prepare for 2019 Psle, as he is studying in a Non-affliated primary school. She said do not intend to DSA, as her son doesn't have anything strong to try DSA, but enter by T-score.

But then, another friend, her boy in a popular, affliated mission school - she is relaxed, said her son should be able to meet the affliation T-score, said later next year nearer (closer the time in Feb 2019), then apply for no pay leave.
