2. Next 3 best alternatives from the TOP list provided which still have vacancies? Got to mentally prep myself for another ‘unsuccessful’ text message on 21 August 2018.

It depends on how many people is < 1km and how many places are left for 1-2km. Based on the remaining places (11), you may not even get a chance to ballot.

I got a friend who waitlist after balloted out at 2C last year. Put her child’s name on waitlist same day as balloting result, saying she lives just across the road and very sad got balloted out. The school called her between Christmas Day and New Years Day. Those final few days of the year. Her child couldn’t even buy school uniform because the vendor was closed. you need to register your child, when the next Phase (2C Supplementary) open.

As for filling up the Waitlist form, in that school which you had just been balloted out -

For such schools, it means that they are not interested in your child get balloted out, during P1 registration. After all, there are also many other kids, who also got balloted out at 2B, 2C, etc. From the school's perspective, they are not keen on who got balloted out. Instead, they are more interested in what your child can offer, towards end of P2.

But, if the school say u may proceed to fill up now, after fail at P1 registration balloting, then fill up the form quickly and submit.

Waitlist form : is the same as Transfer form

What is the purpose of filling up a Waitlist form ?
The purpose of fill up Waitlist form : is to seek Transfer into another school, eventually (ultimately).

If one is not interested to seek Transfer into another school -
then why bother to walk the extra mile, fill up the Waitlist form, in the first case ?

Phase 2CS is time for honesty.

You don’t have 3 choices to make, just 1. Pick First Toa Payoh for peace of mind.

There are only 11 places for Marymount Convent left. It is a good holistic school. Definitely those with daughters and living in the North area (especially those balloted out from SNGS) will be applying there.

If you are game to join the balloting, and balloted out again, you probably have to choose from: First Toa Payoh Primary (nearest to you), Townsville Primary in AMK, Yio Chu Kang Primary (which is in Hougang), Xinghua Primary in Hougang, Zhonghua Primary in Serangoon, Northoaks Primary in Sembawang, Xishan Primary in Yishun.

All these are co-ed schools. So I think those with all daughters are likely to try Marymount, then fallback on these schools. See whether u can take the further north traveling distance if MOE doesn’t allocate you First Toa Payoh Primary.

: SC < 1 km will ballot. If you are outside 1 km, no chance to ballot.

if you don't like First Toa Payoh (because of the name), can consider
(Cedar, Ang Mo Kio, Mayflower, Townsville, Yio Chu Kang, Xinhua, Guangyang, Zhonghua) primary.

Sorry, come to 2C Supp, not much choice left.
