😂 You guessed it, thank you! FTPPS, it’s already a mouthful to pronouce for me, anything that is gonna start with a F.

Armed with the figures and stats from PCPS and KCPS and unexpected TUR at MCS (plan B? What? No plan B), I have faith that my home school distance can’t fend off the applicants from TPY North, TPY Sapphire, TPY West, TPY Rise, Bradell View and all the way to the edge of Macritchie/Lornie. It is a loong shot if I were to register. Murphy’s Law in place!

haha you are staying near The Peak?

My plan B was Haig girls BUT in the end, no plan B as well

For Toa Payoh, there's always GYPS in Bishan as an alternative as well (I highly doubt it's The Peak, since MCS would have been within 1km).
Given the concerns, I'll pick GYPS over FTPPS if traveling is not an issue (there are several direct buses from Toa Payoh to Braddell Road).

Regarding Stamford Primary. Just my observation because I work in Bugis area & always pass by, either by bus or car. The uniform is very nice brown & beige checks. Almost Burberry-like haha.

But that aside…I was very impressed once when I saw a Caucasian girl (~P2-3 age) on the public bus along Rochor Road to school…making use of the travel time by taking out her homework and trying to finish the homework on the bus before school. And yet alert to the surroundings. When the bus neared her stop, she calmly packed everything in time & got down from the bus. I saw a Caucasian female (dressed casually) follow her down the bus without a word. Looked like could be her mum. A very chill mum yet somehow trained her girl to be so independent.

Apart from Caucasians at Stamford, I also noticed quite a lot of PRC or Thai/Vietnamese foreigners walking with their kids to school. They seem to live at Waterloo Street area or Arab street shophouse area since they are walking from that direction.

Not sure about the school culture or kids’ behavior since I don’t hang around there at dismissal time.

GYPS : perhaps Moe can consider re-name it to Yang guang (Sunshine) primary, then perhaps more students will come to be enrolled.

I see no diff between the two.
But if I'm given a choice (and distance priority same-same), I will pick Oasis.

Big taboo to change any character in a 100-year-old Chinese school name. 拆人家的百年牌匾?’光洋‘的’洋‘是’南洋 (Singapore) ‘的’洋‘,不是’太阳‘的’阳‘。The character is already enshrined in their 100-year-old school anthem.

Am left with no cherries to pick! GYPS under 1-2km radar, FTPPS, <1km. Now I just have to teach my child to be prudent, err, sensible, hmm, no monkey business, mind your manners… force myself in PV then equipped myself with a light-up fly-swat that goes ‘zappp’ when a fly is caught and flick all the flies away. And try to fall in love with whatever the school dish out!!! Then tell the kids with problems to come to Auntie AGONY to solve problems rather than asking your peers. Auntie says they can’t help much at this stage, wait till they grow older.

The only song I have in mind for past 3 days is nothing about National Day but Welcome to the Jungle.

I went to Bukit View’s website and found this. The temporary relocation to Jurong East will be inconvenient for you.

Why don’t you choose Lianhua Primary, which has 112 vacancies and is not too far from you? Have a look at their website, you can see the activities which the kids do: http://lianhuapri.moe.edu.sg/whats-up-at-lh

The other school (Dazhong Primary with 114 vacancies) is located nearer to Bukit Gombak, which I assume is too far away for you.

Huhu.. Lianhua is quite far too... the next option for me is bukit timah primary.. not sure how this school is doing.. cant find much review on this school too

But if you are closer to Bukit Timah Primary then go for it. Many many KSPs have already commented it is a good school. My friend’s DC over there also doing ok so far (now P2). Only 79 vacancies left, so u need to make sure your distance no need balloting.
