Older dogs are much harder to rehome than young dogs, as most people only have eyes for puppies and young, sprightly dogs. I suspect a dog like this - obese, arthritic and a senior dog, would be more difficult to rehome, albeit being a purebred Goldie, as it vet bills are expensive. I also hate it when people abandon their dogs. A dog is part of the family, and you don’t abandon your family!I always have the fear of sending abandoned older pets to SPCA. During my time when I was younger then, I heard this veterinary told one of the customers that abandon the older pets to SPCA most likely will be put to sleep. It ingrained to my brain then and even now. Not too sure does that holds true today. Coz keep reading that Singapore has problem housing abandoned dogs.
I really hate it when pets owners abandoned dogs.

Children can be quite resilient.
Things always happen for a reason.
The worry is that when parents over-worry, we pass on those worries (and fears and anxieties) to the next generation. The last thing we want is to cripple their lives because of our own hang-ups and personal issues. -
yeah exactly, older dog past 5 years old very difficult to rehome. Worse when the dog has other health issue.
This 7 years old doggie having arthritic is most likely due to its weight. Arthritic doggies normally hit between 9 years old onwards provided it has proper diet and exercise.
arthritic doggie can be easily overcome with proper beddings, diet, exercise and swimming is good. Massaging is also good. Lots of tender loving care. -

Photo taken this morning around 11am after I braved myself to bring him downstairs to Pee. Need to do this every few hours. Luckily this morning, the balcony is free from poo and pee

You can try to stretch the hours between bringing him to pee. Each time you bring him to pee, observe how much he is peeing. If it is only a little, he is peeing because that is expected of him and not because he needs to. So the next time you can try stretching another hour before bringing him. Mine does his business 3x a day only. Morning, late afternoon or early evening and one last time before we retire. Of course as they age their control may not be as good as a young dog. However 7yrs old is not that old yet. -
What is the fastest way, to toilet train a dog, until the dog understand cannot anywhere shit (pee), but must go to a specific "toilet bowl" area ?

It depends....the moment you see the doggie have the urge, then quickly bring the doggie to the right place. Gotta do this many times and praise alot. I used to train my doggie to a human seat toilet to poop and still can flush.
