@Zac’s mum, ya man! Secondary school maths is so much easier![/quote]I started training myself on the model method since last year.
If they still think things are so easy like our parents’ time, I can say they will truly be in for a very rude shock when their kids actually start P1.zac's mum:

.... ....
They didn't realise the complexity and magnitude of P1 reg & thought it's like our parents' time. just register in school and Dec buy sch uniforms and books. It's totally different to the current system.
.... ....
I’m talking about the Maths syllabus in particular. Big shock bomb there for them.

40 meaning 20 for 2B and 20 for 2CIs it really true that the govt set aside 40 vacancies each for phase 2B and 2C from the start??
Or does some school have a way to get around this? Pls advise.
I remembered that when it comes to phase 2C, the school which we applied for already has less than 40 vacancies left (about 20 plus). We went for balloting but no luck, so had to register again during this 2CS phase. -

the school that i registered this P2Cs was oversubscribed. the school admin was so kind and called to ask me to withdraw and register at other school which has higher chance. Not all schools did that.. sigh
I think they know how stressful and cruel the process can be. Surely they feel the angst of the parents. -

If my understanding is correct, MOE will set aside 40 vacancies minimum for Phase2B AND Phase2C. Then minimum 20 seats for Phase 2C, in case Phase 2B gets oversubscribed. Is it really true that the govt set aside 40 vacancies each for phase 2B and 2C from the start??
Or does some school have a way to get around this? Pls advise.

If 42 seats are available during Phase2B, and 17 registered, means 25 seats left for Phase 2C.
If 42 seats are available during Phase2B, and 26 registered, means 20 seats left for Phase 2C. And 4 people will be balloted out in Phase 2B. -

It’s a mixed bag, bad news because I am >2km. I don’t feel like ballotting so I went over to Opera Estate instead where SC should all be admitted.
Good news for you? why would PR even try this school i dont understand.kkkcheng168:
Update from St Stephens @3:30pm.
Vacancies: 19
Applications:
SC: <1km: 1, 1-2: 5, >2km: 15
PR: 0, 1, 1
Now if St Stephens decides to admit the 2 overflow students, then I don’t know whether to laugh or to cry. -

Same with BTPS. From the numbers reported, seems like will have balloting for SCs >2km category too.
But you can rest easy and look forward to your kids’ time at Opera Estate Primary. So far I’ve only heard good reviews. -

In other years... even over by 1 must also ballot (unless there's a pair of twins among the numbers).

So, no. It won't happen.
