For both english and chinese is much more difficult than ytd. chinese was in library abiding the rules which is a common topic that can be found in any oral practice book.
wonder why moe is so unfair. my boy damn suay. -
I don’t think so leh… The Chinese oral on both days are manageable and have been taught before. They are one of the common topics.
As for the English Oral, I felt that these topics are also manageable for those who have went through such experiences before. Not necessarily directly the same but can be somewhat similar. -
Problem for my DD also, EL oral speech contest is not a common topic. I think most 12-years old seldom have interests to hear speeches if never involves in speech & drama or debates activities
-
Chinese oral was easy for my girl because she’s a librarian! She said all the 规则 still fresh in her mind!
I do agree the English oral seems tougher (for most) especially if one has never given speeches in the public before. Not sure how are they going to carry on this conversation. -

Mine too. The only speeches they 'hear' are probably from their school Principals. -

Actually not necessarily must be speech contest. Every kids will go through show and tell. They can equate this topic to such experiences. -
You don’t need to have had experience giving speeches in order to pass or ace this topic lah.
Topic: speech
“Have you taken part in speech contest before?” No I haven’t. I’m a very shy person and I don’t like to speak in front of crowds/I get stage fright.
“Would you choose to give a speech to strangers or to the people you know?” If I had a choice, I would prefer to give a short speech to people I know, for example a short Thank You speech to my family members at my birthday party. That’s because I know my family members will not laugh at me even if I fumble or stutter. -
