      Jennifer:
The lost dog has its former glory found and enjoyed much love from your family, the classmates and the ksp members here.

No one should feel guilty when it is time to let it go to a better place, to relieve it from physical pains when it becomes too unbearable for it.
Arthritis is very common for older dogs. Especially for larger breed dogs, it’s not uncommon for them to get arthritis around six or seven years old. It’s very manageable with medication. If he’s otherwise healthy, GR Boy hopefully has a good many years ahead of him yet!

the other thing with dogs is developing skin problem when they get older.

I remember my dogs had such bad problems and vet couldn’t do anything about it. eventually they had to be put down. that is the reason why I can’t bring myself to rear dogs again, other than the cleaning up. it’s hard to get over when they had to go.

Ya. Guess that's why DH adamant in not having one, even if kids tried many times persuading.

My nieces same thing, father didn't want tho they've plenty of running space on their landed. When they emigrated & got married, both nieces started getting their own doggies. 🕺

having a dog means time has to be dedicated to it. grooming, vets, cleaning up :dowan:
when the dog is sick, bringing it to visit the vet is more expensive than humans.
knowing my daughter, she will be very distracted if there is a pet at home.

Thank you ladies for your concern. After receiving the injection and taking the patient painkillers, GR Boy is much better today, able to move around unassisted !!

Next week will still need to bring GR Boy for the same injection, which are meant to lubricate the joints. Weekly injection to start with followed by monthly injections, hopefully will improve his quality of life.

@Fried Chick, will read up on the flea med.
@Jen, yes hope when the time comes, it can go in peace.

Glad to know he is better after the injection.

Was about to suggest ‘Goldie’ and saw that you’ve named him Golden. 😄

Saving a person’s life is better than building a 7 storey pagoda. You’ve built at least a 3 storey pagoda now so let’s just take things as they come, cross one bridge at one time....
