      Hello jtee07,

Thanks for the advise. I do agree every school has \"good and bad\" students and it is parents' job to educate the kids. The purpose of my enquiry is to know what are the parents' opinion on the school this year as previous posts were from a few years ago. So, not sure if parents still feel the same way (based on previous posts, seems like negative comments > positive). Nevertheless, the school will organise a tour and I will assess from there. Thanks again...
Hi, I do know of parents who feels that the earlier EPPS was better compared to the EPPS now. (Reason given was that there used to have more supplementary classes esp for graduating classes)
As for behaviour, I do observe 'rowdy' students near my house. Some of them can be really loud and rough when 'playing' at the playground (there's one near EPPS at Blk 510).
Do make a trip to the back gate to observe them if you are free. The students' behaviour in the absence of parents and teachers is the most authentic.

        Hi

Anyone living in pasir ris whose kid is taking PSLE this year? I got in touch with a MOE certified tutor who does English group tuition, we still need 2 more students to form a class. The price will be a lot cheaper than one to one tuition.

Let me know if anyone is interested, I hope can form a class before holiday starts! Thank you!

Hello to all parents whose child(ren) is/are at EPPS,

I am considering in enrolling my child to EPPS. Would appreciate if someone could share :

          1. how is the school environment ?
          2. How are the principal's and teachers' attitude towards students? Passionate towards teaching ? Or heck care type? Or overstressed on the results type?
          3. I believe you had the chance to observe the other students be it same class as your child or the seniors. What is the first impression of their attitude? I heard some schools' students are being labeled as 'naughty'.
          4. Do you think you have made the right decision in choosing EPPS?

          TIA!
          Hi,
Latest info from my son (in P6) is that students who did not score A in MYE2017 are supposed to have remedial lessons.
          cheers

Hi, not sure if this reply come too late. I understand that there is ballot for Singapore Citizen within 1km this year…

My daughter is P1 this year. Balloting was only for PR last year.

I think subsequently, there are quite a few new flats and condos… So I guess more young families might be looking at the school.

Like to check how your view on the school so far? Understand there was a change in principal in 2017, unsure it is due to thaf, there will be a change in the schooling time in 2019.

My wife and I attended the presentation today of our third child’s 1st day in school at EPPS. My two older child who are now 16 and 18 years old completed their 6 years education at EPPS. They are now in Temasek Polytechnic and one of the popular Junior College.

During those days, under the influence of friends who shared about how their children got into MOE listed of schools who received the most awards, we were initially thinking of placing our two elder children into school like St. Hilda at Tampines. We also met two PR’s who are staying with our block in Pasir Ris and shared with us on how they volunteered with St Hilda and managed to admit their children there. In fact, I saw one of the parent fetching his son there on one bicycle! :yikes:

My wife and I who are both being strong in the spirit but weak in the flesh, cannot afford to make that kind of sacrifice – waking up earlier, less rest time, feeling bad to see our children go through the hassles and stress to join the elites. :?:

As parents, we want the best for our children. We want to make sure that our kids get a head start in life the top primary schools in Singapore. Still, we make our decisions based on the comfort and convenience of our child and ourselves. As we resided just two blocks away from EPPS, we decided just to enroll them with EPPS. The decision was a happy one for both of us parents and our two elder children. :hugs:

Emphasis is for parents, principal and school teachers to work together to build confidence and positive image in the kids in EPPS. Elias Park Primary School, being an older school in the neighborhood, has the history and potential to achieve excellence on par with other schools.

                    My personal observations with EPPS.

                    Pro’s:
-\tNew principal with new ideas and challenges. I believe she will do her best to lead her team to improve the standings of EPPS.
                    -\tNew 4 storey sports hall.
-\tNew after school student care centre within the school compound run by established NTUC providers.
-\tDr Ang Swee Chong Holistic Education Framework which look interesting and promising.

                    Cons:
-\tToilet look rundown and need some touch up. It took away the glamour of the new building. When I was using the toilet, I saw of the faulty tap water running nonstop. I hope it is just faulty only today as it was the 1st day of school. I informed the admin staff and she was fast to get it fixed after the presentation.
-\tOne or two of the food stalls were closed. Hope they put it up for tender and get in new food vendors to add in more variety of food. This can be done if rental are kept lower for the food vendors or hawkers.
-\tThe number of EPPS achievements and rewards in 2018 seems to be the lowest compared to the past 8 years. I wonder if it is due to more emphasis by the school on scoring higher PSLE examination grades and whether it has been achieved.

Hi, both my sons have graduated from EPPS. I would like to donate their school uniforms, PE attire and some assessment books and exam papers. My priority is to donate to those who are on MOE financial assistance scheme. Kindly pm me if you know of any student in EPPS who may want to have used items mentioned above. Thank you.

Anyone living in pasir ris (Elias) whose kid is taking PSLE in year 2022? An ex-MOE tutor who does EMS tuition, still need 2 more students to form a class. The price is very affordable.

Let me know if anyone is interested. Thank you!
