I can't do mookata at home...the smell will be trapped in the hall.
We will be doing again next wk end , actually kids do own cooking - I am quite “free”. We like assorted mushrooms bbq so will buy more next time . Need more chicken thigh too - easy to cook n tasty when grill
maybe possible to do steamboat with the bedroom doors closed.
the dining area is too enclosed...unless we do mookata outside the flat :rotflmao: put a table and use extension plug, so that the smell has 'escape route'. -
air purifier comes to rescue

we have strong ceiling fan , standing fan - close all bedroom doors
Not as bad as i thought , open main door to let out the drooling aroma
i din use korea bbq marinate, those dark heavy sauces -i think will make the cooking stronger smell
i used normal kitchen sauces , black peper etc
dip cooked meat in garlic chilli sauce & thai sweet chilli sauce ( no smell cos din use these sauces in cooking)
yep, steam boat - no smell one - easy to do -
my side coz very fast, not many people eating anyway. simple soup of bokchoy? red dates and corn. would have added the soya bean if it has not expired. no marination..soy sauce, sesame oil and ikan bilis chilli sauce for dipping..no smell oso. but ya la, recipe for kids no kick for adults

I have a bottle of Great Wall brand Chinese vinegar.Need to ask the expert cooks here;
Which brand of 醋is nice for steam dumplings and fried gyoza? Available at ntuc? Thanks.
Takes a long time to finish.
I mix light soya sauce with this vinegar for enhanced flavour, also add in lots of thinly sliced young ginger. -

I have to switch to more electrical appliances for cooking because 1) no kitchen door 2) wind from the living room and service yard affects the fire on the stove, so it takes longer to cook and gas is wasted.
my dear hubby bought crab to steam yesterday...and the smell was trapped in the dining and rooms. so can definitely forget about mookata.
there is a strong ceiling fan in the hall and stand fan in the dining corner. -
Janet,
Maybe at some point in time, u’ll consider putting the door to separate yr cooking fr living room? -
Estéema:
nah...I don't plan to install any door. I don't like the feeling of being cooped up in the kitchen. if need to stir fry, then use medium fire. with an electric steamer, I don't have to worry about the fire being affected by the wind.Janet,

but if u don't partition, the food cooking smell will \"float\" from kitchen, into living hall
