nah...I don't plan to install any door. I don't like the feeling of being cooped up in the kitchen. if need to stir fry, then use medium fire. with an electric steamer, I don't have to worry about the fire being affected by the wind.Janet,
Maybe at some point in time, u'll consider putting the door to separate yr cooking fr living room? -
janet88:
but if u don't partition, the food cooking smell will \"float\" from kitchen, into living hall

I wont forgo a door to the kitchen or opt for open concept kitchen :nailbite:
Cooking fumes, noise in the kitchen while others are sleeping. -
Whenever we go hunt for properties, I’ll knock of any properties that I figure not able to put up any kind of kitchen door - glass or others. The fumes, the noise, the oiliness will give me more cleaning headaches & age my living room furniture fast.
So, those small & compact new age homes that do w/o doors to make it open concept & look more spacious actually solve the space perception but create other practical problems on daily basis. I will always walk off within 5 mins & not consider these properties. Think they’re only for those young ppl who don’t know how to cook or don’t cook. -
We have kitchen sliding door but seldom close when cooking…when we stayed in our hdb, after frying fish, can still smell it the next day even though the kitchen is big, with windows and a wall fan blowing out…need to close kitchen door then, lucky thing is smell seldom go up to living hall.

If possible, I want my kitchen to be outside of my house!

I have a bottle of Great Wall brand Chinese vinegar.FantasyLandDreams:
Need to ask the expert cooks here;
Which brand of 醋is nice for steam dumplings and fried gyoza? Available at ntuc? Thanks.
Takes a long time to finish.
I mix light soya sauce with this vinegar for enhanced flavour, also add in lots of thinly sliced young ginger.
:thankyou: -
