I don't know to feel happy or sad.
I don't think dogs are supposed to be caged esp GRs.
Golden boy in 2nd photo seemed smiling and maybe he still prefers to be caged.
That cage was his home for the past 8 years.

The 2nd pic was taken today. Smiling could also mean he was happy that my daughter was patting his head?

poor Goldie. i also feel like crying, after hearing that he had been caged for 8 years so long. No wonder he like to sit down for long time in the middle of the road, because he was caged and nobody bother to take him out for walkie. He very pitiful

lee_yl, I don't believe it! It's both good & sad right? I mean I hv to let go coz he found his 'place' but u now hv more relieve since the helpers there are open to yr family adopting GR.

Thanks for sharing the recent devpt. When I asked earlier, I half thinking u might hv 'released' him, coz its unusual for such long silence. When u first had GR, u were so excited & updating us GR's adjustments at yr home & how family members are responding to him.

I guess it explains why his legs are weak when u first took him to vet. I'm sad knowing HR has been caged for 8 years! It's really not good for his physical health. Emotional health? Sigh!

Think carefully with all family members' impt. But better make decision after PSLE. One more month to wait. All the best tobyr DD2! 🙏 :xedfingers:

lee yl, GR boy looks too lengzai for that cage 😂 positive development..you are relieved from the full time caring yet can go visit him anytime. so nice..happy for you and happy for GR boy. maybe it is not sad at all to him as it has been his life all these while..he should be happy too I guess, happy to be back to his home and happy to have known another family showering love on him. blessed.

I guess GR has been conditioned to accept being caged, so long as there is someone he can look fwd to with his daily food. But pity a big dog caged in without exercises. At least let him walk around. He’s not like other stray breeds.

Earlier I didn’t know he was a caged dog, I even nudged his butt to ask him to get up and move. 😂 Guess he has been caged up for too long, legs don’t have enough muscles plus not used to walking on leash.

But he does exhibit a bit of alpha male character. He must walk in front else he would refuse to move. Removed his leash once or twice recently, ignore him and don’t look back, he would follow us all the way home. But it also shows he can walk!

Below is one of Golden’s buddies. Helpers said I can bring this Labrador out for walks too!
