There are quite a few apps such as Dinner Time or Cold Turkey where you can restrict the phone usage. Dinner Time can be in fact controlled from your phone as parents. However, for long time solution, you need them to build habits.

I usually recommend my students to use the Forest app and it is not only effective but they also enjoy it. It helps them to focus on their work and spend less time on their smart phones!

There is an app called smart app protector which allows you to set a password for access to any specific app on the phone including market. So you lock the browser. youtube, etc and lock the market. Then she can't install new apps without your consent and she can't use any app without your knowledge. that's the best I could come up with for my kids. I tried it on my phone for several weeks and it works every time, it will even let you lock processes internal to the phone so she can't install non market apps. so cool ! :imcool:

sounds good. but I can't find it in Google Playstore... Is it for iphone only?

If only talking about data usage, you can control by your router if the phone mobile data is turned off. But it do not help to stop your kid to playing with offline app.

The best is educate your kid and show them a good example.

From Wifi perspective, it can be done as long as your router has QOS (quality of service) function like most Asus routers. Just select the child’s device and set curfew timing for the internet connection.

This has to be one of the funniest lines 😂 unfortunately it doesn't work on my NS going boy whose face is glued to the phone the moment he gets out of camp.

                        Try the app \"freedom\" https://freedom.to/

Also, if you are an android user, you can use the app \"Tasker\" to customize the time you want data to be switched off. It's a programming tool that is very useful
