Do u mean those in NYPS with 250 and above will definitely get in ? If so, the places for other students using their PSLE scores will be quite "limited", not forgetting some places are also "chopped" for DSA.

Yes, all NYPS girls scoring >250 will be given a place in NYGH. -

nyps has about 40% getting 250 and above, that is about 200 kids
if 50% are girls, that is only 100
so, no worry about not enough places -
My gal will be choosing her secondary school this year. We are pondering is RGS or NYGS. Would like some information for these two school. My girl qualify for GEP but did not take up this. She is still remain top few in her school. Appreciate parents to give their opinions. TQ :?:

Hi Sunday3398,
As DD1’s pri sch is SAP, we’ll try for NYGH’s DSA.
If ur DD is more english inclined, then RGS is more suitable 'cos NYGH is SAP - more chinese culture + values. Some people may not "stand" such env.
We’re also concerned abt image of RGS : elite + $$$ + very vocal (like to argue and very independent). We always hear such image profiling even in facebook/ straits times.
As far as A levels, RJC and HCJC seemed to be "equally" good. -
Hi Ningy,
Thanks! In fact my DD and I had discussed many times. I am more to NY rather than RGS. Hence, we will visit these two school coming saturday and will discuss with her teacher.

Hi! My daughter is applying for NYGH thru DSA and I would like to know her chances of being accepted. My girl is a GEPer in RGPS and is a higher chinese student. Her percentage score for SA1 for Chinese is 86.75 (GEP paper) and the rest of her subjects are around 80% also. Thanks

My daughter's friend got into NYGH with an aggregate of 251. Not even through DSA. SHe appealed after the school posting results were out. Vanilla, Don't be discouraged, AIM.. The 263 cut-off is inclusive of HMT so if your HMT is good, it helps a lot!Wonder if anyone can verify the truth of this.
Bumped into a not-so-close friend yesterday and was told that her daughter is in NYGH Sec 1 this year. Said got in through DSA though her T-score was below 260.
Really hope you can get into your dream school

Chances very high. Last yr they only interviewed the GEPers with less than 80% aggregate. My DD was accepted via DSA under GEP.
This yr new principal, don't know whether will change, just go for the open hse this weekend to check. -
