SL, do you put on make up?
Nothing on my face
This is also another reason why I am shy to attend official functions with dh. -

Ah, SL, don’t bother what ppl eyes see. Just be yourself & you know you’re valuable to your loved ones.
I don’t buy branded clothes to don neither carry branded bags. I do admit when in my twenties, youthful & vain days, I had a couple of branded bags & shoes during periods when I was going up the corporate ladders, no more now. I don’t like events or functions not coz I feel unable to bring myself to doll up, but coz my psyche says most of these are pretentious events. Occasionally I do put on makeup for wedding dinners & celebratory occasions/functions but only if I find meaning in them. In fact I’m considered very lazy, most ones I prefer to hold my hp with cards & bare minimum cash to get by. But I do wear decent, non-branded, clothes to keep a reasonably updated look & not frumpy dressing. But others may not like my dressing. Que Sera Sera. Doesn’t affect me.
If anyone see me no up, doesn’t bother me coz I consider these as insincere & fair weather acquaintances. They can’t run my self-esteem down.
I stay away fr mingling in clubs but will visit with those handful of very close & down-to-earth friends when our families gather. These friends go with me to salons with skillful hairdressers that don’t charge more than $30 haircuts. We’ve stopped going for spa or facials together monthly since pass our 60s, except for one frd. I suppose she still feels the need. As for me, I’m content to maintain as who I am w/o external cosmetics. -

If that's what you prefer, what's there to be shy about? I am usually without makeup other than lipstick (and that's because it doubles as lip moisturiser which I need with all the aircon around). If I have evening functions, I might put on makeup, but I use very little - maybe a stroke of eyeshadow and a little blusher. My kids tell me I shouldn't bother because it can't be seen!ngl2010:

Like SL and Esteema, I don't buy branded items and dress simply (and cheaply!). I have a few \"good\" items which I wear to evening functions o rotation, and I don't care if people have seen them before. As long as I am not being disrespectful by dressing too badly (eg. flip-flops to a fancy dinner, or shorts to a wedding), I don't see that there's anything to be shy about. My haircuts are under $5. The main thing is to be happy in yourself. -

I hope both yr children will lean on each other as they grow into adulthood & look out for each other. Yr son will make someone a good, responsible husband & father. :hi5:
he is very caring and sensitive towards my parents...I am very happy he knows how appreciate them because he knows how much they love him since he was born especially with his condition.
