Teach reading & writing to SPD kid
-
Hi,
The OT will be able to guide you some methods on teaching SPD kid on reading and writing skills.
Regards, -
SPD - Sensory processing? How are his fine motors skills? It could be that his motor skills are not yet developed enough to control a pencil well. Can he read? Reading generally precedes writing.

Bring your child to the library. Let him choose the book he likes. Even baby book is OK.
It happened to my girl in P1. Cannot read. I let her choose baby books. I read to her and I get her to point the words and read to me too! After Term 2 in P1 she started to read by herself.
Of course, you need to send him not only OT, your son needs early intervention.
I send my girl for Cognitive Brain Training, OT, Psychology for her Math subject. You have to find out which subject is his weakness and work on it.
Most important must find the right person to teach him.
Hope my sharing helps. -
