                  sembgal:
I am checking for a Friend what is the criteria to get the prestigious Prime Minister Book Prize Award which is given to about 10 outstanding bilingual pupils who completed PSLE and based on the Eng/ MT results and/or based on overall results? Can anyone help to answer? This award seems to require teacher’s nomination to submit to MOE. How does this work ? Anyone can shed some light ?

Sharing from my own personal experience. The potential Prime Minister's Book Prize candidates are selected by the MOE itself, no nomination from schools or teachers. Main selection criteria is primarily good results for both English and MT. Since the award is for bilingualism, any additional awards/accomplishments/achievements for both the English and MT domain would attract the attention of the selection committee.

Selected students will then be required to attend an interview (at MOE Grange Road), and prior to the actual interview, a short reflection, together with submissions of the student's achievements/accomplishments/awards/etc will need to be submitted through an online platform. That is all that needs to be done on the student's end.

As for the interview, it will be done in both English and MT, in front of a panel of interviewers. Interview slots are by strict appointment time and limited to a ½ hour block for each student. Questions asked are rather broad based, which I believe to be just a GTKY (Get To Know You) session. Then it's the waiting game...........for the coveted brown Manila envelope with the words On Government Service emblazoned in front.

                  Hope that helps and clarifys.

Chicken essence in bottles lasts only for 3 hours to keep u alert. It's also hot chemicals. Best homemade chicken soup.

yup...it only lasts for a short period...it's that extra burst of alertness.
I did share earlier my friend gave her son 2 bottles. he drank more bottle in the morning and he was done with his math paper 1, he was already drained. during the break, he drank 2nd bottle for paper 2.

Quite challenging for the kid to open the chicken essence on his or her own .. but cannot open first for them right ? Does anyone know if berocca is effective for mental sharpness?

Why need all chemical based, unnatural food/beverage for our young ones? Best let child manage stress of sorts (physical, mental & emotional). Let the child rest early & maintain healthy diet fr home cooked food (with less fried food to avoid heartiness, etc). Extra hugs & love fr the most impt ppl in the child’s life - Parents.

                      Take care all PSLE kids.

Sufficient rest and sleep is very important, especially tomorrow is a long day. Both the form teacher and co-form teacher sent remind messages to parents, reminding us not to stress the kids and to let them sleep early.

All the best to PSLE kiddos tomorrow! Jia you!
