DD and her classmates translated the sentences to English and they read:


- The family is happy that they are going away for vacation.
- Getting first in class, he feels proud of his achievement.
- What had happened that made her feel happy/proud?

From these kids point of view, all choices are therefore acceptable and tough to choose.

Hi Sctc,

As the original document is actually classified as 'Restricted' (which is why I cropped out part of it ), I have translated the points (apologies for the English standard). The many criteria taken into consideration are still quite visible though.

The marks for 表达 is not completely independent/irregardless of the story content but the focus is on the structure of story & paragraphing (i.e. won't be penalized again for plot/storyline)

Can’t remember the exact words and all 4 choices but along this line. 洋洋得意

- 他们一家人要出国旅游，感到洋洋得意。
- 他考试考得第一名，难怪那么洋洋得意。
- 小丽脸上露出那洋洋得意的样子，究竟是什么一回事？

Some classmates choose 旅游，some choose 第一名 and some choose 脸上。Even CL teacher also jokingly tell them she does not know the answer as all are very close. Perhaps did not want to affect their mood. This is the only question that she said she changed the answers 3 times.

Haven't 'verify' the original sentences yet but first one would be out if the structuring was as mentioned, i.e. '感到洋洋得意' because it's meant to describe expression (神态/样子) rather than feeling (so the 感到 part rules it out).

Second one does seem to be the best choice as it clearly states the reasons behind why he's 得意 (满意/proud of oneself). Just like in doing 造句, the answer for 句子选择 should involve correct use of the 词语 both grammatically and in terms of 'bringing out' its meaning.

It is a wrong perception to think one has to choose 命题作文 in order to score well. DD prefers 命题 but her classmates who chose 看图作文 could also get 34.5-36.5 in prelim, very high marks for sap school standard. Choose the one the child is more confident in writing and has more ideas what to write.
