      Zappy:
      Cloud Cloud:

My girl pri school is considered neighbourhood. Had wanted to use the top school papers to assess her standard. Her school most probably won’t participate in ICAS.

You can still apply ICAS and do a benchmark test on your own as a private candidate.

many primary schools had already done away with ICAS tests : particularly those from Affliated primary schools, plus some GEP schools.

Why (reason), No need ICAS tests ?

For Affliated primary schools :-Principal informed parents that ICAS tests are not necessary, since students can enter back into their Affliated Secondary schools; via the Affliated Discounted new AL score, from this pioneer batch of 2021 (born 2009), onwards.

Relevant ICAS certs can be submitted for DSA applications as of now… But yes in future, who knows.

In a way, it is good to remove (P1 & P2) tests (exam), from 2019 onwards.

Then, you won't witness anymore the fierce, intensively competitive rat-race situation (scenario) like St Hilda primary school where, \" a P1 student scored 97 for Chinese, do not qualify, or is not good enough to take up Higher Chinese in P2\".

            http://theindependent.sg/is-overall-mark-of-97-not-good-enough-for-higher-chinese-at-st-hildas-primary-school/

From 2019, the lower primary (P1 to P3) will be honeymoon years, indeed : since their first graded exam will occur (arise) only at P3 SA2 (October), that is, at the end of P3.

For 2019 (P1 & P2), since no more exam, at November year-end prize award ceremony -

means No more "Top 3 students in every class", to go up the stage collect prize award, anymore.

also, no more "Top in level cohort, for 4 subjects" anymore.

And also, No more "Top 25 percent of students cohort level " award, per primary school, to collect $ cash award from their community centre MP anymore.

The uncertainty of the new PSLE scoring system would result in a hypercompetitive DSA in 2021…
