      Hi happiest

Yes. P5 maths is very much tougher than P4. The faction topics (remainder concept, repeat identity concept and equal concept etc) and ratio topics (internal transfer and external transfer etc) are not easy to understand and remember the model. What we do is identify the similar questions and let DD do more practices. We also bought a few Maths problem challenging books just to refer/learn for the respective model. Hope this information help.

        Hi Brenda,

Thanks for the response. At the moment i am using the Onsponge workbook and the problems sums workbook by Dr Andrew Er. If you have any other books to recommend please let me know.

Any suggestions for science? I truly appriciate any feedback.

thanks and have a great day!

May refer to my last year post - 40/100 for SA1 MATHS

Every school wanted to set a higher PSLE standard...
I am puzzled. Are the schools not aware that by doing so, the kids may missed a chance for DSA which look at their P6 SA1 result? No?

            Hi Happiest

For Science, beside understand the key word and key concept, we also remind DD after analyzing the question in Booklet B, try to answer the Science question in the following style:

The higher the temperature, the faster the reproduction of the XXXX.

This experiment show a seed with a XXXX mess travels in a XXXX distance.

To find out if the length of XXXX affects the length of the XXXX.

XXXX was trying to investigate if XXXX is needed for germination of seed X.

To find out if the amount of XXXX given to a plant affect its growth

            Hopefully the above are useful.

              thanks Brenda,

I think the problem is that he must make sure he uses terms that are required to answer a question to gain marks.

              thanks again!

                      Hi Janet,

There is a big jump from P4 to P5. I think you must get a tutor. the problem sums tend to get very difficult in P5. My son does the MCQ ok but struggles for the problem sums. For the science he can remember the facts but is unable to relate to the questions in Section B
                      Hi Happiest,
Thanks for the info...very very valuable.
I've forwarded it to hubby. Why is Maths getting so tough ? :?
Hubby told me not to get Challenging 4-in-1 by Dawn Tai as it's too tough...now I think it's better to get it to prepare him for P5/6
