I feel so sad, when come across P6 affliated student who scored 229 (T-score, recent past year).


She just missed by one point, but sadly, cannot come back to St Nick Secondary, anymore.

If only she had gotten more MCQs correct, whether is (English / Normal Chinese / Maths / Science ) MCQs, it would have helped her cleared 230 hurdle battle, as T-score is dependent upon Total of 4 subjects. If one subject is weak, the other stronger subjects all combined together, can help to "pull up" the weak one.

Good point. Thanks. Parents tend to be blinded by the brightness of CHIJ SNGS Secondary. Cannot see the other schools.

Those two schools located in the east (which u named), are too far away, at Bedok & Marine Terrace. Thus, not suitable for travelling to and fro, waking up 5+ am early morning.

Holy Innocent High : is co-ed.
Student and her parents want an \"All-Girls\" school, no co-ed at Secondary level.


She put back St Nick as 1st choice, appealed, still cannot. She feel sad, so were her fellow close P6 classmates who had been with her together for past 2 years (P5 & P6).

Since this student couldn't come back anymore through S1 posting (via PSLE T-score Cut-off-point) and appeal, the only chance left is to .... wait patiently, until end of Sec (1 or 2), apply for Transfer back into St Nick Secondary, continue her journey in Upper Sec (3 and 4). Hopefully, she can come back via Transfer, later on.That's the only way (solution) out for her, to come back. That means temporarily, she go and study in another Secondary school first.

One reason why people want to come back, is because in P5 & P6 : some of them had formed strong bonding friendship with their fellow classmates，their closely-knitted buddy close friends, “ 所 谓 姐 妹 同 心”. After all, they had been studying in the same class, for two years. Not one year. They missed them. As such, they would very much like to continue their Secondary education here, with their \"姐 妹\", before they depart for A-level (Junior College), go different path.

For Secondary school students, there is a Transfer form (or Waitlist form here, they all mean the same thing).
Pupils seeking for Transfer into SNGS (Secondary) : need to submit their Year-end results, Testimonial, CCAs evidence, etc.

If vacancy were to arise -
Applicants for Transfer probably need to sit for some key subjects' entrance tests, before short-listed, based on their results (performance) in these entrance tests.

If you are refering to St ﹰNick (O-level) track : usually many girls attempt to enter by the affliation T-score Cut-off point (230), normally they won't enter by DSA.

Moreover, if one were to examine P5 Report card content : -
\"230\" was not difficult to be achieved, by our entire P5 cohort girls. As such, many do not see the need to apply DSA (O-level track).

There must be a reason : why our school set \"230\" as the Affliation Cut-off point. And not set \"235\", another 5 points up, instead. School must have studied (analysed / evaluated) many past years' trend of PSLE statistics gathered carefully (cautiously) from past batches of P6 graduated students, before feel comfortable enough, to set it at \"230\".

Anyway, St Nick (O-level) program, is very popular !


However, going forward, under the new AL system : this trend might change, because it is very easy to chalk (clock) up points readily, per subject. Moreover under AL, one cannot rely on the stronger subjects to \"pull up\" the weaker subject (s), anymore. As such, for students who are not confident of achieving new Affliation Cut-off-point under new AL, for O-level track : we may see students attempt to DSA, to come back.


But for St Nick (IP) :
some affliated pupils who are keen, may choose (opt) to DSA.

In terms of strategy, if the child’s anticipated T score is hovering around the borderline of the affiliated COP, the parents should have tried to use DSA to secure a seat for the child in the O level track, rather than wait till PSLE results released then cry.

DSA for O levels (all schools) is set at max 20% starthing from this year, so I think for that year, it was lower.


Plus DSA to St Nicks O in years before this year, was by sports only, if I am not wrong.

School dismissed at 1.30 pm (Monday to Friday), across all level (2019 P1 to P6)

No more 1.50 pm dismissed, become history of the past.


Cca : 2 pm to 4 pm, until instructions received from your own, individual Cca Teacher-in-charge to stand down, closer (nearer) the time-frame, for even-level (P4 and P6) SA1 (mid-year exam) and (P3 to P6) SA2 (final, year-end exam).


From 2019 (P1 and P2), onwards : no more weighted exam (abolished)
