Hi, yes, SST maths is indeed pretty demanding and my DS is also working very hard to do well in this subject, thou he scored A* in PSLE maths. But shld not give up now, is a good training ground for more challenges ahead.
SST is pretty different from other mainstream schools, they don’t follow the usual curriculum as they have their own programmes.
My DS has been very motivated in school and we are glad we let him made the decision to take up SST offer last year. -

He has no tuition as sst students will not benefit from those usual tuition centres. They are too slow for sst students in term of the topics covered.
For tuition, you need to go for 1 to 1 as some topics they covered in S1 are S3 topics. -

The curriculum maybe different if you want to compare SST to other mainstream schools. But rest assure that the kids will be in good hands. To my personal understanding, S1 may cover part of S2 topics but definitely it is what the kids can managed.
Currently, I have not receive any information about the changes to MOE new initiative from the school. -

Sorry for the late response, our end-of-years just ended and now I am free to answer your questions
The SST Year 1 and 2 curriculum covers all eight subjects taken in Years 3 and 4. As such, we are exposed to all examinable subjects in Years 3 and 4, allowing us to make informed choices on our subject combinations. Besides, our school has a lot of programmes designed to prepare us for O’Level such as our Night Study Programme [Y4] and Study Support Programme [Y1-Y4] which allows students to prepare for their examinations with our lecturers there to aid us.
Don’t worry if your son is not technologically or scientifically inclined. Our students are taught ICT in Y1 and Y2 with Computing being an Applied Subject for the O’Levels. Our students are diverse in their skills. Some are mathematically inclined, others being artistically inclined, such as our Design Studies [DS] Students [Shameless-Self Promo: Follow me @NP_Designs on Instagram to view our DS Projects] Comparing to IB? Well, our course of study is a mix between both IB and Cambridge, with Experimental Sciences and Mathematics being a core subject in our curriculum. So don’t worry, our educational level is practically on par with that of institutions like SJI and RI. With many of our students being accepted into both schools post-O’s.
Our students also have a close relationship with our juniors. Students tend to share and help each other holistically and academically such as our Design Studies students guide our juniors on their ADMT projects while Academic Notes are passed down year by year to aid them. Many may not see it, but, we are proud to be in SST since SST has provided us with a place of education for four years of our lives, relationships and bonds have been built, bonds that will never be broken.
Many of us are accepted into SST via DSA [80%], but many more are accepted post PSLE [20%]. This allows us to give a chance to those who failed in the DSA rounds but are still determined to join us. So, don’t worry, you still have a chance.

Hello,
I am a Current Y3 Student in SST. The O'Level Math Syllabus is mainly taught over 3 years in SST [Y1 - Y3] while only 1 Topic is taught in Y4, this allows us ample time to prepare ourselves for O'Levels in Y4. However, our Y1 and 2 Sciences and Humanities still follow the standard MOE syllabus to allow us to make informed choices in our Subject Combi selection in Y2. On the query about the MOE initiative affecting us? I don't think it will affect us much since our lecturers conduct quizzes weekly to gauge our understanding of our topics.
