MMM:
:rotflmao: two tanks
Isn't it true if you look carefully at their respective nicks? Oops, we have gone :offtopic:, better :siam: before tankee, one of the 'tanks' come after us with his :nunchuk: :heresmyfish: :spank: -
On this topic on watch, I want to share a good place to buy watches.
The bencoolen.
I bought babyg for my girl. City chain and OG listed price is around $150. But I got it for only $89 there… It’s a brand new babyg model.
They also have Gshock, baby g, seiko, tissot, casio, etc… many watch shops there but all going at a good price. -
There is a watch shop on Level 1 of Hougang Mall and their prices are quite reasonable too, not the City Chain Shop, but the one next to it.

I know that one. But in bencoolen, they are like dirt cheap.... Eg. alot of their basic babyg models still go at at least $70-$80. But in bencoolen, the basic is around $50-$60 and latest model going at no more than $95? We happened to chance upon it while the kids were having lessons at FLS.
The watch shops there are packed with people every sunday. But mainly cash base. The same applies to g shock. -
You have the exact address of the one in bencoolen?

Just go to level 1. They have at least 3-4 watch shops there. All the price are fairly competitive. Some may carry more models than the others so it's good to look around. The watches are displayed with prices. That is the nett price. It's good to have ready cash on hand.
If you have a model in mind, you can pm me. I will be there this sunday so can check out the price and let you know. It will be the last sunday we are there before the hols start. -

I found that forum recently, that's how I notice how ignorant I have been. :oops:titank,
Just to add. There is actually forum for rolex in Singapore. Everyone discussing about price, models, anything about rolex. It's really an eye opener and there is so much to learn.
In the same forum, they also talk about other expensive watches as well.
Last but not least, the prices for such watch will only go up year after year. So there is this general belief that you should buy it sooner rather than later. -

 I just joined the forum recently and found out there is so much to learn. It's really interesting and people are really passionate about their rollies (a new term I learnt) : )
Actually, there are alot of good learning if you are shopping for a watch. Eg. I go to shops that people recommended in the forum. I also made sure that the sales person gave me all the stuff that people mentioned.
Frankly.... I am having thoughts if it is possible to buy a rollie overseas and then sell it here. There is some good margin there. But purchase price must be good. -
MMM, thanks for the offer to help me look around. No, not looking at new watches at the moment, but since you mentioned Bencoolen, thought would be good to know, so the next time we need to buy a watch, we know where to go.

Regards the comments that other countries cheaper. Understand that watches can be cheaper in Hong Kong - my friend’s hubby gets her Omega watches from there.
My current watch is a Omega Seamaster. Around the time DH bought it many years ago, he happened to be at KLCC - it was cheaper there [long bia]… :x
BTW, a friend went to Switzerland to buy Longines…when she was back, and did comparison, Singapore shops (downtown) is CHEAPER! So not to say Switzerland definitely cheaper although it’s country of origin.
