Last year I accompanied DD1 to collect her PSLE transcript.
DD1’s BFF who was in the same class as DD1 in P5 and P6, usually scored around the same as DD1 during class tests. The BFF’s tscore turned out to be 25 points lower than DD1’s. On the spot she broke down and cried. As I knew this girl pretty well, I was also “traumatized” by her emotional outburst and felt sad for quite some time after the event. -
I think we as parents need to be careful on this. It is not so much about winners and losers in PSLE. Last year, on the request of my friend, I was there accompanying my friend’s son to receive his PSLE result. His parents are usually out of town alot. I was worried for him if his result turn south not to his expectation. Whatever the result will be, as a person we need to be humble.

How do we define Winners and Losers in PSLE? By highest T-scorces? Or must be 250 and above? A child who is used to failing his subjects, or barely passes his subjects during his primary school years but worked very hard during his PSLE and eventually passed all his subjects. No high T-score or whatsoever for him. Wouldn’t we consider him a winner? No?

For some students, able to pass PSLE itself is already a hurdle, a struggle

Cloud Cloud:
But P6 Form Teacher still want to see them, for one last time. And some students want to see their classmates for one last time too, before all go to different Secondary schools.
Maybe MOE should just let parents check results on line... -

can see them in the P6 graduation party right? Not necessarily must see one last time when receiving the PSLE result.

If given an option to receive results online or must personally collect from school, maybe more than half the cohort will choose not to turn up in school?

online is a GOOD suggestion.
