That’s the problem, if not nice, the whole packet is wasted. Ming Ang is nice probably because it is v fresh.YL
In Cold Storage of Suria KLCC, I saw a few brands of Ma Ti Su which am not adventurous to try. I may want to buy 三叔公 Ma Ti Su in Malacca.
三叔公 is a very popular brand but I am not sure if their Ma Ti Su is nice. My friend once gave me 三叔公 White Coffee but I think NTUC now also carries.
Did you go to Jalan Alor @ Bukit Bintang for hawker fare? I like Assam Laksa, Penang fried kway tiao and Penang Prawn Mee. Or if you like 姜酒鸡 面线, Hakka style, there’s one coffee shop along Jalan Alor selling. I went there w my mum before. -
YL
The food stalls at Jalan Alor open during the night? Maybe be an issue going there in the evening bec we stay near Suria KLCC. -

Yes, I think most hawker stalls open in the evening. If you are keen on nostalgic street food / hawker fare, maybe the easiest is to take a cab down (15mins drive).YL

Finally get to visit the newly revamped Pek Kio market. After one month of renovations, I don’t see much changes, except it felt brighter and toilets had been upgraded.
Saw my SIL & BIL and had breakfast with them. SIL told me it is a must to go for massage/manicure/ pedicure/perm or colour hair etc. before I come back from KSL hor. These services are 1/3 of Singapore prices.
Then met another 3 groups of friends while marketing. 今天不知什么好日子, took me a few hours to come home from market :faint: -
Pek Kio finally renovated without much change? That’s sad. I was hoping to see some changes to that old market.
-
Ya lor! I actually spent a fair bit of time to examine if they change the floor tiles. :? Still looked original to me. The tables and chairs also original.
Then why they need to close down the whole market for 1 whole month hor? Some said change cables, that I can’t tell.
PK market’s cooked food’s and groceries’ prices are much lower than the nearby Whampo market. Cleanliness level is also higher too. -

likely upgraded the lightings to LED or some energy savings lights and major cleaning of drainage pipes.
better not anyhow replaced floor tiles or tables/chairs, else invites criticisms about Govt wasting tax payers’ money. -
