I say I dont want to buy any more books but bought 2 more Sci books today, by Janet Sim, I see the explanation immediately after qn looks so refreshing and interesting..Sci can study on own or not?

Which books did u buy? I realised I also bought her books but never really got time to use. 😓

I bought the EPH 'Janet Sim's Science Guided Practice' for both Lower & Upper Block. There is a similar book but more on the Qn, which I didn't buy. I shall see if dd likes the books or not. When I saw the 'explanation' after the qn, I feel as if there is someone explaining to dd, I hope it could help her.

I was holding a guidebook for parents by MC (?), was thinking of reading it myself then guide her..after seeing Janet Sim's books I thought that may be better? Actually I changed my mind, went back to Popular after reaching the carpark. Dd has many Sci books but still very new.

            Hi,

Do u recommend to start going through P6 topics or go through P5 topics during the holidays to close any gaps? The runway to PSLE is short.

This holiday should be going through Pri 5 in my view. For Chinese, Pri 5 has 18 whooping chapters in 5AB (20 Chapters for HCL). Though we still revise P5 in Pri 6, 1 round revision still not enough to score MCQ full marks for those scoring 'B' in P5 SA2.

Laoshi, when do revision for Chinese, we need to know how to read and write all the words in the textbooks?

How about for maths? Revise p5 topics first, or teach p6 topics first before going back to p5 topic revision?

Primary 6 Math requires advanced problem solving skills. So for me, I am currently revising Primary 5 contents with my students first, to consolidate their foundation.

                Hi all,

My son failed his Chinese for P5 SA2... he failed his Oral, Paper 1 and Paper 2.

What can we do during the school holidays to help him improve on his Chinese?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
                Hi Giggler,

Would you mind providing more information such as:
                - how was you son's Pri 5 SA2 CL result as compared to SA1
                - details on the marks/mark range for each component (so that we can gauge his strength/weakness as well as set realistic target/goal)
                - his foundation in CL (how he did previously in Pri 3 & 4)

Based on above Tentative dates, from SEAB

Assuming that there is no change to the exam dates, if work backwards,

Normally, last paper is Higher Mother Tongue.

Thus, Wednesday (2 Oct 2019) : very likely, to be Higher Mother Tongue

                      And

Science (very heavy content paper, lots to study, remember and to apply) :
either fall on Monday (30 Sep 2019), or on Tuesday (1 Oct 2019)

Whatever it is, grateful for the week-end available (Saturday 28 and Sunday 29, Sep 2019), to prepare for Science.

After last paper on Wed (2 Oct), can celebrate, go \"gai gai\"

For the past few years, the written paper flow has been consistent:

                        Thu - English
                        Fri - Maths
                        Mon - MT
                        Tue - Science
                        Wed - HMT
