Wow, 2010 onwards, COP for RGS is like go lower than NYGH ever since. Wonder what really happened.
The COP (264 for 2018 S1 entry) for NYGH are for non-affiliated students. NYPS girls can enter through affiliation if they meet the minimum 250 (not sure with or without HMT bonus points, and they limit the number of affiliated students they take in). So you could say the average COP of NYGH is actually lower than RGS. -

WEF 2016 (?), schools will not accept appeal if you fall below the COP.dear veterans, newbie here seeking advice.
son got 249+2.
considering chs. qualifies for O (COP250). want to try for IP (COP253).
do you think i should select:
1st choice - CHS IP (but 2pts below COP)
2nd choice - CHS Olevel
OR
1st choice - CHS Olevel (once get appeal for IP? does it work this way?)
thanks for all advice and opinions.
Hence, you will have to choose the following:
1. CHS IP
2. CHS O
And then pray that you clear the COP for the IP track (TBH, very unlikely). Once in O Level, you can try to do well enough to qualify for IP - though that will most likely be the same thoughts and hopes for nearly every student in the O Level track in CHS.
If IP is what you want, you will have to consider the following option:
1. CHS IP
2. RVHS IP
3. TJC
4. CHS O
It's a choice of what you really want, the programme of choice (IP) vs the school of choice (CHS) -
Nanyang Girls High (SAP school) Secondary 1 Admission : for Affliated girls, from
Nanyang Girls primary
As long as NYPS girls place #1 First choice NYGH under Affliation, if their T-score is any of the following minimum 3 combination :
- 247 (+3, for Higher Chinese), or
- 248 (+2, for Higher Chinese), or
- 249 (+1, for Higher Chinese), or
- 250 (never take Higher Chinese at PSLE, only took Normal Chinese)
As Nanyang Girls High is a SAP school, the (+1, +2, +3) Higher Chinese bonus points come into play, can be activated to use now.
As long as pupil able to hit 250 : NYPS girls (students) have priority under the Affliation scheme, to enter NYGH first.
That’s why it is so good (important) to have affliation. 250, can enter Nanyang Girls High, in turn affliated to Hwa Chong Junior College, the #2 A-level Junior College in Singapore. #1 is Raffles Institution.
However, if affliated NYPS pupil score
248 (+1) : doesn’t hit (reach) 250 yet, Sorry, cannot be admitted into NYGH, must choose other school instead. -
Hi,
anybody with 250 offered third language option? Thanks. -
My dd got 252
Is it ok ifwe put mgs olevel(254)as 1st choice and 2nd choice as crescent girls(241) school.

250, is inclusive of Higher Chinese bonus points, to go to affliated Nanyang Girls High -

-----Hi, My DD scored 254+1, our choice is tentatively as below, the last 2 choices are safe to be posted ? Thanks for advice!
1, CHIJ St. Nicholas IP ( This is just for fighting only, most likely is meaningless )
2. Cedar Girls' IP ( risky, also for fighting)
3. CHIJ St. Nicholas O Level
4. S Chinese Girls IP
5. Cedar Girls' OLevel
6. PLMGS
My concern is just that I put it too high, end up waste all choices, anybody know if the last choice is safe ? as I know PLMGS has affiliated school that normally take in more students from affiliated students. Thanks in advance ! -
