My DS qualified in PSLE but we stay in Bedok. Based on my various routing attempts on several websites, it needs a minimum of 1 hour one way by public transport.

I tried looking for the information but can't find mention in this forum.

Is there are school bus to HCI from Bedok ? I drive but shudder at the PIE traffic in the morning.

Are you asking about transport from Bedok to RI or HCI?

Use this to plan your transport. https://www.transitlink.com.sg/eservice/how2go/h2g.php
It takes 33 mins to get from Bedok MRT to Marymount MRT, which is 2 bus stops to RI taking bus 410.

Marymount MRT is a few steps away from RJC. No need to take 410.

DS said New Zealand prime minister, Jacinda Ardern, visited RI this week. Did she give talk to Year 1-4? Because DS didn't hear anything on JC side.

I know they were limited slots for other JCs' students to attend the talk but my girl didn't sign up because it was their commendation day in the morning. The talk was in the afternoon on 16th Nov.

My bad. It is RI. Thanks for the info.

I cross posting as we easterners are very blur about central.

There are school buses to RI (we have seen some buses when we dropped off DS last time) but sorry I don’t know the contact numbers.

Hi, my DS got 262. What are the chances of getting into RI? We stay in Simei, quite far from RI. Am interested to know if there’s any bus or carpool from the east to RI (1 way morning) available. Thanks.

                  Hello,

I just found this contact from the orientation file last year. I was told they provide school bus transport from the east to RI. I did not contact them myself and not sure of the details. You can try contact them. Hope it helps.

With 5 pts above last yr's COP, I would say that your ds' chance is very high. Not sure which part of Simei do you stay but the nearest 2 MRT stations from RI are Bishan (NS line) and Marymount (Circle line), with the latter sheltered all the way to the JC section of the sch. From the JC section, it's linked to the sec sch section (also sheltered), making it very convenient for the boys to travel by train.

According to the sch website below, there is a consultation specially arranged for Y1 admission on 26-Nov, between 9-11am. Perhaps you could attend to clarify any doubts that you may have.

Actually it is only 1 bus stop away.

There are 4 bus stops along Bishan St 21. Two bus stops on each side of the road. If a student alight from Marymount MRT station and want to take bus 410, he needs to pass a few RJC gates and when he sees Gate 5 he needs to cross the road and take Bus 410 from opposite RJC (waiting time is 5-6 minutes in the morning according to SBS website). Then he needs to alight at the next bus stop (opposite Gate 1), cross the road and enter Gate 1. It is actually easier to just enter Gate 10 on RJC side and walk all the way to Year 1-4 area than to take Bus 410. Or, the boy can alight at Bishan MRT instead of Marymount MRT. Bishan MRT is nearer to Year 1-4 unless if his class is in Rajaratnam block which is near Year 5-6. But only year 3 and 4 classes are in Rajaratnam block.

I am attaching RI map so you can see the bus stops and the gates.
