MOE directive is quite clear: must meet COP before school will consider the appeal

Yup! I shared this mum’s angst coz she tried appeal despite P clear indication during speech to advice parents post-PSLE processes. P indicated clearly it’s very unlikely to succeed appeal with MOE even if u’re willing to pay for fee for them to rack up their records.

We all know this boy’s attitude. The mum lagi cannot take “NO” for an answer type. So, she go MOE :stupid: :stupid:

      Just sharing.

Yes, there are parents who in a frantic, desperate attempt to gain back that 1 point to appeal, willing to pay MOE $, to request a thorough check through their child's every single subject papers, see if can gain back a few marks here and there, to \"up\" their T-score, to meet official Cut-off-point.

For subjects like Maths, right or wrong answers provided, very clear cut. English and Chinese Paper 2, also very clear cut.

The only subjective papers are Paper 1 (English composition or Chinese zuowen, upon 40 each language paper 1). But during PSLE marking, after one Teacher marked, there will be other Supervisor / Teachers, who reviewed the score for compo / zuowen.

        Hi, advice is needed.

261+3, this is my dd’s choices:
        1) rgs
        2) nygh
        3) dhs
        4) sngs
        5) cedar
        6) scgs

Thanks very much for your advice.
Looking at this year’s overall results distribution (e.g., lower ESIS cop), your dd should be able to get into #1 choice school, otherwise, definitely #3 if not #2. Congrats in her awesome results!

S1 computer posting goes by merit. The one with higher T score, enter first.

          Between 240 and 239, who is higher ? 240
Therefore, the one with 240, enter first.

          Another example
          Suppose have 2 candidates T-score.

          X : 240. 1234

          Y : 240. 4321

Both X and Y have the same 240, but their decimal points (only MOE know) are different. Y has higher decimal point than X. So who enter first ? Y

          Hi, Thanks for your reply.
My son's marks is 242. As per your reply, If i put Swiss cottage as 2nd option and someone puts Swiss cottage with 1st option having marks 240, my son will have the most chances to get SC. Right?

Is Not the sequence of choice-schools that people put. Not for T-score system. T-score only go by merit.

Don't worry about the sequence, because sequence don't come into play, under T-score.

Just ask, who is higher. 242 or 240 ? The one with higher T-score, enter first. In this case, 242 candidate enter first

              Hello, need some advice here

DD scored 183 and since staying ard Hougang area, we are thinking of the below options:
              - Xinmin 182
              - Bowen 177

DD prefer XM but it seems like the chances of getting to XM is pretty small should the COP is increased.

Am I right to say that if XM can’t get in, BW will most likely confirmed to get a place since the COP is quite far away?

              Thanks in advance!

That looks fine. She should be able to get into her first choice. If not, then her second choice.

Go ahead to put XM as first choice since you don’t really know the cop until posting results day. And yes, if can’t get XM, then pretty sure can get into BW as second choice.

DHS is safer according to last year COP. How did your DD's cohort fare compared to last year in her school? That might be an indication

Can someone explain what’s the difference between IP and IB programme? Thanks!

IP = Integrated Programme (a 6-year programme, students do not take O Level exams at year 4 except for HMTL and 3rd Language)

3 tracks of IP leading to different exams/ certification at the end of year 6:
                      - GCE 'A' Level
                      - IB Diploma
                      - NUSH Diploma

Please refer to the link for more details.
                      https://beta.moe.gov.sg/courses/integrated-programme/#integrated-programme

                      Thanks a lot!

To answer simply, your son 242, even if put Swiss Cottage 6th choice, will get in before someone with 241 who put Swiss Cottage first choice.

So only the last choice, or if really kiasi, the last 2 choices, needs to be really safe.
