Thank you for the sharing of thoughts.

Anyone knows if Anglican touch a lot of christianity in school? We are not Christian but I like the school. It seems a good school with well behaved children.

No they dont force it on you

      :thankyou:

Dear Parents, we are new to the posting system and are not familiar the schools,....our son's tscore is 234, should we chose clementi town (231), which is 15min walking distance from home, or Fuhua Sec (232), which is 35 mins away by bus ? My relative said Fuhua' culture is better (chinese based) and overall ranking or perception is better than clementi town. They also said for secondary school, it is not important for the kid to be near home unlike primary school. In short, Fuhua's \"better name\" is worth the travelling time. Any knowledgeable parent on the two schools or how important is travelling time mean to a kid, please advise. Thank you so much. :thankyou:

          Hi,

          Appreciate some kind advice.

With aggregate 239, worth giving the risk to try for a school with cut off 241?

Between Anglican high and commonwealth sec sch, which is a better choice?

          Thank you!
Hi, is yours a boy or gal?

There are so many good schools within your choice based on the mark (which I think is really good, congrats!), I've highlighted some nearer to central area since there's where you stay.

If boy, I'll strongly recommend Maris Stella. Very good school, teachers, values etc (it's a SAP school, like AHS). Zhonghua is a good school too. Not SAP, but pretty strong Chinese heritage. It can be your safety net, as it's COP is 234. It's actually a very very good safety net. ๐Ÿ˜„

If gal, St Margaret and Crescent girl (COP is higher though, @241). Zhonghua too.

That being said, i definitely believe your choice of commonwealth sec is a good one. Students who graduated from the school have largely impressed me. ๐Ÿ˜„

          All the best!

Hi all, my daughterโ€™s T score is 235 and she got a merit (+2) for HCL. We are considering between TKGS (231) and Anglican High (238). Both being Express stream only but AHS is a SAP school. Downside is need to hope for AHS COP to fall. We are living in central part of Singapore so to travel AHS is further for us. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

You can consider zhonghua (in serangoon).

But if only want express stream schools, then perhaps TKSS as well?

For online submissions of psle schools, i got timed out of the page that shows the verification form as there were issues with my printer. Does timeoue mean i hv to redo my 6 entries? I have hardcopy and softcopy of the verification form. Does it mean my submissions for the 6 schools have gotten through? Do i need to login again to see if my 6 choices are locked in? Does logging in again mean the system will think i am amending my choices when i am not? Can anyone advise? Thanks.

According to page G5 and G6 of the big book of sec schs, logging in again does not mean you are amending. You can log in again, see the VS to make sure it is submitted, And then log out.

Thank you for your quick reply. Iโ€™ll double check again. Thanks.

                Mgs olevel or cgs?.pls help

                Thanks
Hi! Do you mean Cedar girls? It's a good school, very academically focussed, but also pushes the gals in their CCA. Can be competitive especially in the top classes (but that could be the case for almost all schools), so will need to manage that...

Overall, my niece had a great learning experience there. ๐Ÿ˜„

Perhaps other forumners can advise on MGS (O level). ๐Ÿ˜„

I think you have a good chance getting into RGS. Just make sure DHS is the school that you are comfortable with just in case your choice 1 doesn't work out.

Different children have different levels of stamina and preferences. I think the travelling time does make a difference since the school hours are long (reach home 4pm-7pm). Being walking distance to the school has its advantages especially if the CCA is intensive. Some parents don't mind travelling 1h to go to a branded school but they have cars to send the kids to school or do carpooling. Ask your child since he is the one doing the travelling. See which other factors appeal. I think both schools are okay.
