The late Aloysius used to study in this school.

The current principal, Mr Lo Chee Lin, was previously the Deputy Director of Curriculum Planning and Development Division (CPDD).

Hi can anyone confirm whether Yuying Sec School offers Art O Level in sec 3? I went to the open house today, was told by teacher that the school does offer the subject but when i refer to moe sis website and the choose your sec schools 2020 booklet, it only show Art (not Art O Level) in their subject offered. I want to choose a school where my kid can take Art as elective in sec 3 so that he sits for art in his o level so this info is very impt. Thks alot

Based on the Sec 3 class timetable, the school offers Arts as a O level subject for its students

                    https://yuyingsec.moe.edu.sg/useful-links/for-students/class-timetable-for-2019-2nd-semester

Do note that usually the school will only offers the subject if there is enough students sign up for it. If your kid is the only child to choose Arts as a subject in Sec 3, the school may or may not open a class for one student.

Hi Koguma, thks so much for taking the trouble to show me the link to school timetable. Noted the Art periods allocated for sec 3 & 4Express classes. Jus wonder why the school dont publish Art o level as subject offered. Come to think of it, it cld be due to what you’ve pre-warned me, i.e. risk of not having enough student to form a class and then dropping it for that particular cohort. Hmmm very risky. Btw, is ur child at this school? what’s ur view of this school?

Hi, I am not familiar with this school, but I believe in every school, there is always good and bad students. Get your child to join a CCA and be active in it. As long as they are busy with CCA, they wont have spare time to be mischievous. All my neighbours are from neighbourhood schools but none of them turn bad, although their schools have not too good reputation in the neighbourhood.

I think the booklet is not updated, hence I always visit the schools website and see what special programme they offer.

Beside Arts, you may want to consider the interest of your kid and see whether any schools has special programme in that area.
