The computer will sort students in order of merit first. So someone scoring 245 will be assigned his school, followed by someone scoring 244, then 243 and so on. So someone scoring 245 will get into the X school even if he puts that as his last choice compared to someone with 233 who put it as his first choice.
The order of choice the teacher was referring to is the individual's order of choice. So for eg,, your daughter scored 233 and puts as her choices:
School A - COP 220
School B - COP 218
School C - COP 232 etc
As School A's COP is clearly within your dd's T-score, she will be given School A bec that's her first choice. School B, C etc will not even be considered.
Conversely, if your dd selects all schools with much higher COPs than her t-score, she will not get into any of them and may risk being assigned a school by MOE. That is why order of choice is impt.

Yes, put her first choice school as first choice. No effect on your chances for 2nd and 3rd choice schools.

Thanks for the responses. School booklet doesn’t explicitly suggest that points take precedence over sequence of choice (on the background that COP qualifies).

It does say students are posted on merit. See the 2nd page of your Choosing Your Sec Schools grey booklet.
