Is it really 无心?
Yep, exactly. Actually, no need to argue over all these - there are no real facts in the original post anyway. There will always be some people who quote anecdotal information to incite a response.
Whether it's rumors about parents who look down on O-levels, or look down on DSA students, or PRC parents behaving badly, etc etc. Kinda like Online Citizen or States Times Review. -
peasants, I guess some of us were caught by surprise from your posts last night…may or may not be your meaning but some of us got the impression…like O level is not good. That causes some discomforts in some of us. You have clarified once and some of us understand there may be valid reason for such thinking(if there really such)…what happened this morning, from what I see some of the members got abit lost on what the issue was about…therefore issue ‘resurfaced’ and got discussed (likely they dont see your clarification post as they are in different threads)…

I think it means whole school must be in the IP stream - never mind Year 5 and 6 that some O Level fellas will be joining in, we just pretend they don’t exist.
btw, which is pure IP with no O level classes, can tell me? -
peasants:
Why not ask the originator ? There is nothing to hide I am sure.
In the first place, have you read the original post? If yes, I would like to hear how would you interpret those words used.lee_yl:

Lai Lai, I am here. Cut down on salt, bad for the blood pressure. I run hell a lot, any sub 9 min pacer for 6 laps? I am only ITE btw.[/quote]The above question is not directed at you.
Peasant, sometimes when I chance upon your posts, you yourself may not notice it but many of them sound bitter.
What I want to say is, life is never fair. In KSP here, we don’t care what background you are from, ITE so what. Over here, not all our kids are high fliers but we share information and experiences to one another regardless.
Btw, me and MKS we are good friends and I was just :pokeeye: :pokeeye: her. Lol. -
sigh I have finally read all the hoo-ha liao. Aiyah. Sometime we really need to be watchful on what we are saying inclusive of typing out lah. There are kids reading in the forum as well. Be sensitive beyond reasonable is my motto to my kids.

MyPillow:
Curious, which schs are the \"Pure\" IP stream only ? pardon my \"suaku\"
There isn't any pure IP school. IP means inclusive up to 6 years, until A level is over (completed / finished).
All IP schools, are joined by Joint-Admission Exercise students in Year (5 and 6), after they sat for O level exam.
Even the two High schools : River Valley High and Dunman High, from 2019 onwards, have JAE students joining them. -

Your comment “life is never fair” is :goodpost:
A student may study very hard but yet didn’t get gd results
A worker may hold 2-3 jobs but can’t even beat somebody who holds a part time job
A gd person may die early while a not so gd person lives long long
There is simply no fairness in this world. -
Overrated means T score for NYGH include HCL , but not RGS. So they are comparable.
"PURE" means IP school with no O levels to back on. Cos I do not want DDs to feel complacent. If they have no confident in IP, then go O levels. This is my stand all along, my past posts can prove my point. And this is what it is! That’s why it is in RGS thread, not common thread!
However, even after I clarified and even apologized unreservely, someone took my post, twisted the content, and starts to stirred in a public domain, in pm boxes, and more and more joined in. Knowing there are kids reading here, they will be thinking why this forum is so toxic!
I am from humble background, but I don’t look down on myself every morning. I got this chin up bar mounted on the wall, which I pull myself up every damn day.
Someone hope my DD2 meet tough kids and face tough times. Well, bring it on. She’s tested. Tough times grow tough kids.
I hope I cleared all doubts. Those who has further doubts can pm me, but please don’t stirred further or personal attack.
Lastly, no offense again. You people are still my source of guidance. That is no doubt. Thank you! -

I find your nick very familiar. Your one liner post is like an obscure path into a forest. I would take this path anytime. Thank you! :udawoman:

let’s take with a bucket of salt pertaining to “there are parents in this forum looking down at O level track”.

Wow, you read my original post and tried clarifying here.
Above a very critical phrase - 'children themselves'.phtthp:
another group .... either the parents, or their children themselves, kind of, or in a way, to some extent, do look down on students taking O-level, somewhat.
It's only a 12-year-old kid from a supposedly less advantaged background, who fought hard to qualify for an IP school thru t-score, expressing her system preference and personal favour for schools sans the supposedly more advantaged affiliates joining at a discount (which I inferred is related to the need for an O level class, resulting in the kiddo's disdain?).
In some families, the elder sibling can exert a strong influence on the younger one in terms of picking a sec sch. Moreover, it's clarified it's nothing to do with looking down on O level track. I ain't too bothered by such kiddo views. Some of my friends' kids bitched about SAP schools with kids of PRC descent, calling them unkind names etc, but they will grow up and change their mind some day.
:thankyou:
