What is the chance of 254 + 3 entering to NJC given the cut off was 256 last year? Is it risky and would it affect 2nd choice for RV that has 250 cut off

NJC is not a SAP school.
The HCL bonus points do not count in the COP of NJC.
Check the sec sch posting booklet pages on how a child is posted based on the choices made.
iirc there should be no impact if your child's first choice is NJC, but is not successful. Your child would be posted to the second choice, if there is still vacancy. Check the posting explanation outlined in the booklet.

The NJC website should be the more accurate source of information. It is also possible to join two CCAs (e.g., one Dance/Music. the other Clubs/Societies) from JH2/3 onwards.

A quick response to furfur in addition to the source that Jennifer has kindly provided:

- out of 8 classes, 7 classes are triple sciences, and 1 class is double humanities double science. Most students are able to take the subjects they choose. And yes, NJC only offers Pure Science.

- for Sports CCA, I think there may be trials/selection especially during CAFE, so anyone can join Sports CCA as long as they fulfill the requirements, doesn't have to be from school team previously. I know of someone with no basketball background managed to join the NJC basketball team.

Hi,

I like to find out more about the subject combination selection in year 2 & JC1, and the sports CCAs.

(1) In year 2 and JC1, are the students allowed to choose any subject combinations or there are pre-determined ones? What are the subject combinations for year 2 and JC1?

(2) In year 3, how many students can take triple Science (Pure Bio + Chem + Physics)?

(3) NJC offers only Pure Science?

(4) In JC1, triple science or double maths double maths is not offered?

(5) For sports CCA, can anyone join or only those in the school team can join?

Thank you!

https://nationaljc.moe.edu.sg/#

click on Curriculum to know about the subject combi
click on Experience to access CCA info
Hi Siuying,

My DD is in NJC year1 now. Thare are both bit size test and exam, final marks are calculated from combination of exam, bit size test, class participation and project, depending on subject. DD uses both text book and iPad, she told me that textbook is not required if iPad is used for e-learning.

Dear TEA8008
• Do all NJ students need to own/purchase an iPad for learning in school ?
Does the school recommend or arrange purchase of iPads?
Can students use other tablets instead of iPad ?

Hi,

I just wrote to NJC last week regarding iPad, below is their reply

For Junior High 1:
•\tneed an iPad 9.7\" of 32GB at the price of $498 (quoted from https://www.apple.com/sg/shop/buy-ipad/ipad-9-7) is needed. No need to upgrade, no need 3G/4G, no need apple pencil. For keyboard, it's optional.
•\tmay purchase directly from apple education Singapore at a discounted price difference of $30 or can buy from airport (discount from GST) or any other shops available in Singapore (Challenger, iStudio or any other IT shops).
Hi yamyam
:thankyou: for sharing this information from NJC.

The smallest uniform (size 13) for NJC is really huge for my son (three sizes smaller). May I know for those who had encountered similar problem before, please share with me your experience how you handle this case. The bibi and baba sales girl at Orchard outlet advised to customise uniform at the HQ but it will take a month!

Thanks for the prompt reply. Bibi and Baba HQ informed that they can tailor latest by 1/1/2019! So we will go ahead and let them do the sets 🙂

Oh great! By the way, NJC doesn’t start school until second week of Jan, so you’ll have time 😄
