Hi. Does anyone know if its true that you can’t bring phones to school unless you gain approval from principal?

Hi, my child did not take higher chinese in primary school but I intend to let her take it in Nan chiau. Can i confirm those whose children in this school whether my child need to take a test before be allowed to study higher chinese?

Yes there will be a test and the results will be sent to school email address.

No u are allowed to bring phones to school but cannot use in school during school hours unless teacher allows for use of phones for educational purposes. If caught, handphone will be confiscated for up to 3 months

Oh dear, my child more towards Nan Chiau but going chung cheng will give opportunity to take higher chinese without test.

Don’t know whether to take risk in Nan Chiau if she can’t pass the test.
Tomorrow morning has to put the choice liao…

The test isn't the only way to take HCL for o lvl. It is possible to switch to HCL in yr 2 and 3 if ur child performed well for CL.


Tho apart fm that be sure to settle down on a sch that she have a feel for and won't regret.

Both have strong Chinese culture

We chosen Nan Chiau 1st choice, Chung cheng 2nd. We followed the child liking though affiliation JC is important in future. But i think she will be the one going to the school 4 years so her interest is the point.
Maybe friends will think we are ‘stupid’ but let it be. We trust everything will turn out well even she may not be able to take higher chinese in the end to have that bonus points in NC. Btw, we stayed in Punggol.
